My strategy for a 2-week trip next year....

So now that I've been educated on the water parks and more option, it seems to me that we could get a great value in vacation next year by staying 7 nights on property and then perhaps 7 nights in a much cheaper condo. I'd get the WP'n More option and spread out the park days, so that we'd be able to enjoy more Disney time once we moved off-site! plus, we'd finally be inclined to attempt LegoLand and SeaWorld.

That sounds like a plan.... Another option could be just checking how much the Premium Annual Pass will be, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time at Disney. That might also offer you discounts on Disney resorts. Every time I check out standard tickets (we have totally different ones offered over here in the UK), getting an Annual Pass is always cheaper.

I can thoroughly recommend SeaWorld by the way - we love going there. If you're getting a ticket for that, you might want to consider adding on either Aquatica or Busch Gardens or both.... just some thoughts!

It does sound like a good plan. The only thing I would do differently is this: Stay at the off-site condo first, then move to Disney. That way, you'll have the fun on-site stay to look forward to!

:yeahthat I always book any time we plan do off site attractions before going to Disney This way we are close have seen all the other stuff sort of like an opening act and then the Main event. Last year we did book FtW cabins for 3 nights before our Package time but that was because all we intended to do was US after spending our first full day exploreing FtW and then Typhoon Lagoon my DW said US other than Harry Potter area was a mjor let down. This year we'll do Sea World and if its warm enough maybe Gatorland zoo but stay at one of the off site hotels then Disney

but staying at Disney the second week wouldn't give us the extra Disney time, right? Since our tickets can be used for 14 days after arriving at Disney, we could do Water Parks and More option and have park credits to use for that whole second week. If we do off-site first, we don't get to take advantage of that, right? I don't care much at all about doing off-Disney stuff. Just thought it would be an economical choice to stay the second week off site, perhaps do SeaWorld and maybe some shopping / relaxing, but still have plenty of Disney options.

Just don't buy the tickets as part of a package, do room only. I agree with advice to do off-site first. Otherwise the 2nd half of the trip will be so anticlimatic.

hmm, I'd have to look at room only versus having the package with tickets. Plus, we aim for free dining times and we'd still want that for our first week. Gotta have a package for that. Annual passes for 4 of us would still be $2400, so I'm pretty sure a 7-day moderate level package with free dining would give us better value, especially with 7 more days' worth of water park / other options. I do get what you guys are saying about it being anti-climactic to leave, though. But getting to stay longer in Florida would be a treat in itself for us. It's been - 20 Farenheit here with the windchill for over a week!!!

Annual passes and premium annual passes are 2 different ticket types. Premium annual passes will get you into the water parks and Disney Quest as well as the parks. Happily both types will give you free parking at the parks when you are offsite.

You can definitely do it whichever way you prefer. Offsite on the last part will give you a chance to relax outside of the Disney parks and maybe slow down a bit before you go home. Just make sure you use up those Disney dining credits the day you check out of your resort.

If you can do the Aquatica with the SeaWorld portion of your trip. I just put together a package for a client and they are really excited about that add on.

Even if you're only staying at Disney for 7 nights, you can get 10-day tickets with your package so you have 3 extra days worth of admission to the theme parks for when you're staying off-site.

I understand what you're saying, especially with the free dining option. A 7 day WP & M option will give you a total of 14 entrances (7 park, 7 "other"). If you only did the waterparks and DQ the second week, you wouldn't miss out on the extra magic hours at the regular parks. Also, if you want to do other parks (SeaWorld or whatever), you could even do a 5 day ticket with WP &M option for a total of ten entrances. The WP & M option does allow for more flexibility in use of your park time. Good luck with your planning. I envy your two weeks!
