Question ASMovies - Standard vs. Preferred

Is there really a huge difference in the standard vs. preferred rooms at All Star Movies? Or is really just location? Thinking of possibly upgrading, but want to know if it's really worth it.

The rooms are all the same. Preferred rooms are closer to the main building for easy access to food, buses, and main pool.

Yes, it's location, location, location. We stay at Music and have done both preferred and standard rooms since they were refurbished. The only difference I noted was a privacy curtain in our preferred room that wasn't in one of the standard rooms. But is that really worth an extra $12 or so per night? We like to be close to the main pool for our son, and the food court for my husband who has mobility issues. Otherwise, we are equally happy whichever room we get.

The rooms are all the same, but purchasing a "Preferred Room" gets you closer to the lobby/busses/foodcourt.

Less walking with the Preferred Rooms. Not worth it unles you have mobility issues (rooms are exactly the same)

Here's a link to the map of AS Movies.

http://willcad.org/maps/wdw/resorts/resort_asmo.pdf

I was just looking at info for this resort over the weekend and if I'm correct, the only standard rooms are Mighty Duck and Love Bug - all the rest are considered preferred. If you don't care about distance or themeing, then go for standard. If you want Toy Story, Fantasia or 101 Dalmations, you'll have to pay for preferred.

I've done preferred (at AS Movies) and standard (AS Music) - only real difference is the amount of walking you'll do. I did the standard room on a solo trip but opted for the preferred room when I took my three kids - I didn't want to drag three tired little people all the way through the resort at the end of our big, long days!
