Re: FW Trail Question

FW is a great place to have a bike. The trail over to the Wilderness Lodge is less than a mile, I'd say. It's a beautiful ride, too. Kinda hard to find so just ask a CM to point it out. We also rode our bikes back on the canal path where you walk the dogs, though it is a bit rough. There is also a road over to the Wilderness that is closed to the public, but the WDW buses use. Since using your vehicles within FW is discouraged, it is easy to ride all over the resort (those golfcarts can sneak up you, though!!). Hope this helps!
Carole ( I'm about the only other person on these boards who takes their dog to WDW,too!!)

Re: FW Trail Question

Are carts allowed to use the trail also? What about the road to WL that the WDW busses use?

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">NAW! WDW being a family place I bet a lot of doggies get to visit particularly in FW. Afterall they dedicate a portion of the campground just for people with pets. I doubt they would if those loops weren't used. They would lose money.

Anyway one of the reasons we bought an RV is to take our doggie with us on trips. Kennels these days (in the area of NY that I am in anyway) cost nearly as much as a motel. Also motels that are pet friendly are few and far between. Plus he hates the kennel. When we used to go away and put him in, he didn't eat and was always hoarse because all he did was sit in his stall and bark.

Almost all campgrounds are OK with pets as long as they are taken care of and picked up after. Besides he deserves a vacation too. It is great to see how excited he gets when we go somewhere new. All those great new smells, sights and tastes. You can see he feels like he is doggie heaven.

FW Trail Question

DS asked me a great question yesterday. We are bringing his bike with us to FW and asked if there were any trails beside the loops and main roads that we have heard are sometime busy with busses and golf carts.

I saw on the FW map that there is indeed a bike/fitness trail. Where does it go? Does it end up at Wilderness Lodge? Anyone know how long this trail is or how far it is to WL (a mile, 2 miles??)

Re: FW Trail Question

Sorry, when I read this post I swear you asked where golf carts can go. Silly me, I guess I was confused!
