Polynesian Resort: tell me about it....

Hi!
My mom and I are going to Disney World in October and we will be staying at the Poly (we have visited it before but never have stayed there). Please tell me about your experiences at the Poly and any tips that you might have to make our stay more magical.

Hi CRZY4DSNY and Welcome! You are going to love staying at the Polynesian!! We have stayed there twice and love it! I have two favorite areas there. The first is the volcano pool! IT ROCKS!!!! The second is O'Hana. I don't know if you have ever eaten there but it is on my must do list every time I go to DW!! The whole feel of the place is tropical and magical. The Tiki torches at night are also especially pretty. Have an awesome time!! Oops! I forgot to tell you about the electrical water pageant! It is on the lagoon at night-be sure not to miss it!!

Re: Polynesian Resort: tell me about it....

We spent a week at the Polynesian in June and loved it. We wanted to be near the GCH and the pools and the beach, so we requested a room in Samoa. If you get a third floor room facing the volcano pool, you have a lagoon view room for the price of a garden view. We would stay there again, but the Wildnerness lodge is calling us back next time.

Re: Polynesian Resort: tell me about it....

Hi there-

The Poly is my very favorite resort- I absolutely fell in love with it when we were there 2 weeks ago. The CM's were great and the amenities superb. I know lots of people love the volcano pool, but I found the quiet pool wonderful- it was just a regular pool nestled in the tropical plants and palm trees- and always less crowded than the volcano pool.
We enjoyed the Great Ceremonial House very much- take time to enjoy all the shops and my DH liked having a drink at Tambu Lounge in the evening.

I don't think I can ever stay anywhere else unless I have to do due to budget!! Have a great time!!

Hi CRZY4DSNY!! Welcome to the boards!! You are going to love the Polynesian. It has such wonderful theming, and you can't beat its location on the monorail and lagoon. Be sure to check out Kona Cafe; it's one of our favorite places to get a quick breakfast. We're really looking forward to the Volcano Pool, as it was being refurbished in 2000. I remember swimming in this pool as a kid and it was one of my most favorite experiences at Disney, along with hanging out at the beach. Have fun planning your trip.!!
