We are going to attend MNSSHP for the first time. Is it too intense for a 4 year old?

Re: MNSSHP

there's not a darn thing that's intense about it. the worst thing about it in my opinion is it gets awfully dark. i don't think the parks are often well lit in the dark.

Re: MNSSHP

I thought so I have a friend that said it was just too intense for her children but she is kind of silly about Halloween stuff Personally I have always loved that holiday! I have always thought the parks were rather dark at night as well! She said the main thing was how dark it was, but it also was her first disney trip.
Off site - 1976, off site - 1995, Coronado Springs - 1/2002 - brought home a disney souveneir(my daughter who was born Oct. 2002) ASM - 12/2003, Poly -12/2004, Contemp - 10/2006

Re: MNSSHP

i'd make sure she was referring to WDW and not mistaking it for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios which is most definitely not for children.

Re: MNSSHP

MHSSHP isn't intense at all, it's such a great way to spend the evening. Loads of people dress up, there's the parade, fireworks etc, it's brilliant. Oh and getting loads of candy I think the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal are a different matter though, they are way to intense for me

Re: MNSSHP

However, if you children have an aversion to the "bad guys," they might be scared. The villains are out in force for MNSSHP. My boys loved it!

Re: MNSSHP

i don't know about in full force, sadly.

last time around, there was a villians stage show and they did meet & greets afterwards and they were in all in the parade (and some of them are in the normal parades anyway), but other than that, the only one i ran into was the queen of hearts. that doesn't offset the fact that i've seen cruella in day light.

Re: MNSSHP

Sounds great! I think with most people being dressed up she will be fine she is not usually a scaredy cat but who knows if that will change before Oct. I think we are definitely going to do it!!! Re: MNSSHP

The NSSHP is PERFECT for a 4-year-old. Our almost 6-year-old and 3-year-old loved it. An older child might even be a bit bored. It was fantastic, especially the parade. They are still humming the song that the characters sing. Their other favorite part was seeing all the characters in costume. Definitely right up a 4-year-old' alley.

Re: MNSSHP

Sounds great! Did your family dressup? I think we have decided on DD going as Tinkerbell, DH as Peter Pan and Me as Wendy I think it will be more fun if we dress up!!

Re: MNSSHP

We have been the last three years (my DS is 7). He absolutely loves it! You may see a few scary costumes and your regular Disney villans are there but it is mostly pure fun! The parade and fireworks are really great. There areas all around the park to do some trick or treating. I really believe a 4 year old would love it!
