Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Hi-I am a new member with a question-we are planning our 1st trip to Disney in Nov 2007. I am trying to decide between POR(which I love!) and ASMusic's Suite. There are 5 of us-me,dh,dd12,ds9,dd5. I am leaning towards POR(it just looks so great!),but the room isn't very big. The Music's suites seem great, but the resort doesn't compare to the POR. Any thoughts?

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Here's something to think about... POR: two double beds, one trundle (one room and one bath) ASMu Suite: queen bed; couch, chair and ottoman that convert into beds (two rooms and two baths) How do the sleeping arrangements sound to you?

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Also, there are two tvs and two rooms that can be separated by a door (right?) I would go for the suite -- those two bathrooms will make it so much easier to get ready in the morning! Eileen - who loves the PO resorts, but would rather have room to spread out!

| Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? We're also a family of five, and we chose POR based mostly on cost. It was several hundred dollars cheaper to stay there. We also have a short trip and won't spend much time in the room, so that helped with the decision. If I was going for a longer period of time or planned on spending lots of down time in the room, the suites would be a better choice. | Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Boy, I would sure go with POR, especially if it was cheaper! Riverside has the BEST food court, IMHO, and we spend lots of our "down town" hanging out there when we stay there instead of in the room. |

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? I'd lean towards the ASMu Suite. How often are you in your room, anyway? if you're just there to sleep and wash, might as well do it in less-cramped quarters.

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Having just stayed at Port Orleans French Quater I would vote for that! POR is nice but very large. I loved the quaint feeling to POFQ. One plus I thought was POFQ is the first stop for the bus routes going to and from the parks Although the thought of 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms sounds nice too! But ultimately I would choose POFQ.

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? POR is the only resort I've stayed at in Disney, so I don't have much to base my opinion on. I just wanted to say that I think your feeling about Riverside looking so great is right on. We loved it!!! The grounds are beautiful. Location in the Disney property may help you choose as well. Riverside allows you to take a boat trip to Downtown Disney which gives you a break from the buses. You can always read reports from recent visitors to each resort on Tripadvisor. They can help give some insight too.

Re: Choice to make-POR or ASMusic Suite? Welcome to the Passporter boards! Hmm - we are a family of five also - so we have faced the same dilemma as you - although the All Star suites weren't open the last time we went as a family. Since your youngest is still fairly young - the trundle bed option at POR's Alligator Bayou may work for you. For us - we've considered the POR room, 2 rooms at a value, and the deluxe resorts (most sleep 5 in a standard room, except for AKL and WL). We've chosen the deluxe route almost every time. When it's a budget trip - we tend to choose the Contemporary Garden Wing rooms - still only 1 bathroom - but it's a large bathroom - and the toilet is in a separate room with a door - so it's very useable, even for getting ready in the morning. The rooms are huge - and the bedding is 2 queens and a twin sized daybed. You can't beat the location either, and with a discount, the price should be competitive with the All Star Suites. A room at POR would be less expensive - but you do give up the larger room, bathroom and beds. Just another option to throw in the ring.
