MK view and Garden view at Poly Hello everyone, I have not been on in a while so please forgive me if some of my questions have been asked recently by others. I already have a room booked for a garden view at Poly in Jan, I have not requested a specific building. I was told to request Tokelau for the Garden view last time and it was nice, but I did not go in any other buliding to compare. I was thinking of getting an AP again this year and seeing if my AAA discount for the garden view would be the close in price to a MK view with the AP. If I go this route what buliding would be good to request, and are there any bad MK views? Thanks, CATEY

Re: MK view and Garden view at Poly Yes, there are a few "bad" MK views. By that I mean the castle may be blocked by a palm tree or two. The best MK views you'll find (IMHO) are in the Hawaii (concierge) and Tahiti longhouse, which also is the farthest longhouse from the Great Ceremonial House but it is a pleasant walk both to and from the house, especially at night. Sigh, to be there now!! As for a MK view AP rate near a garden view AAA rate--that'd be rare but you never can tell about those AP discounts sometimes. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Re: MK view and Garden view at Poly "I always request this building, top floor" How does everyone go about requesting particular buildings or floors. Do you all do that during the initial reservation process, or do you call the hotel directly with the request? My wife and I will be staying at the Poly during our december trip and would like to request a particular building. We were initially scheduled to stay at the Boardwalk, but after a trip in early October, we decided to change resorts for December.

[/ QUOTE ] First, and most importantly, Hi and Welcome to the Boards! Okay, I may be the odd one, but I DO NOT request a certain building, floor or room. I know a lot of people do, but to me that's part of the fun. I do usually request a certain view (water other that at the Boardwalk, there I ask for a Boardwalk view) If there is a certain view, floor or room you want, or any special needs (like a room close to the elevator), then most people fax the resort a couple of weeks before, and again a couple of days before. |

Re: MK view and Garden view at Poly Welcome to the Boards "DisneyLuver" and welcome back catey We always make our requests at the time of reservation, with the knowledge there are no guarantees. We have stayed in Tahiti, lagoon view nad loved it. Since then we always stay COncierge which is Hawaii and we ask for the first floor. We love to walk out onto the beach from the room

Re: MK view and Garden view at Poly Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm actually not that new to the boards. Been lurking for over 2 years now, and made 2 trips to Disney with the info gathered here and from Mousesavers. We recently got an AP, and will probably be heading off to Disney about 4 times in the next year. Just got back in Early Oct from Pop. Will be back in Dec at Poly. Down with family in early Feb (waiting for AP rates like everyone else). And will try for one more trip near the end of Sept. Gonna be a busy year. Anyhow, thanks for the building/room request info.

Re: MK view and Garden view at Poly We stayed in Hawaii with the MK view this year and it was great! We were on the 2nd floor and nothing was blocking our view. We definitely be staying in the Hawaii building when we go next year.
