Question Best Hotel for a Family of 6?

We are hoping that we can manage to fit all six in one deluxe hotel. 2 adults, 4 kids (9, 6, 3 & 1). Does anyone have suggestions? We previously stayed at the Polynesian and felt very, very comfortable when we were a family of 5.

Because your family includes an infant, you may be able to still fit into a deluxe "by Dstandards". They have a set number of people they want in a room.

Another solution may be the DVC resorts. There are places online to rent points and you would fit comfortably in a 2-bedroom unit for about the same price as a deluxe room.

One of the newest solutions would be an All-Star Suite. It's not a deluxe, but the suite would accommodate your family of six comfortably.

Have fun planning!

The 2 BR at one of the villas would be perfect... and the kids would have lots of room to run around in, and you'd still have great privacy too! It's also great because of the kitchen, so you can have your bottles, snacks, drinks, etc., right there; saves some on meals too. We don't usually cook any more, but it's great for breakfast, sometimes dinner.

Seeing as how the Polynesian rooms are some of the largest Deluxe rooms, there aren't too many choices left to you for a one-room arrangement. You could try the Contemporary resort....the rooms there may be a bit larger (I don't have the stats available). You could try the Fort Wilderness Cabins that sleep 6 and have a small kitchen. You could try a Villa 2-bedroom at any of the DVC resorts. You could get a 1 bedroom Suite at the deluxes that offer them.....AKL, Contemp, YC, etc.....

I think you could definitely fit comfortably into any of the deluxe resorts, considering the age ranges. We stayed at the Boardwalk, just me and mom, and my then seven month old daughter. I can easily imagine two adults sharing one bed, two kids in another, the third child on the pullout and the baby in a pack and play.

With that said, the villas are a wonderful way to stay, also. My aunt and uncle are DVC members and stay at Saratoga Springs, and it's so roomy! So you may want to look into that. Any of the villas are great, but with the number of children you've got, you may want to consider either the Beach Club or Boardwalk Villas, which are walking distance to 3 parks (I count the Magic Kingdom b/c you can walk through Epcot to the monorail), or the Wilderness Lodge Villas (close to MK).

Either way you're going to have a great time!

When we went as a family of 6 (DH, me and 4 daughters) we stayed at a cabin in Fort Wilderness. It was perfect! Kids slept in bedroom, DH and I in the Murphy bed in the living room. 2 TVs. We had a kitchen so we made all breakfasts and most of the dinners, saving the cost of feeding kids who would just as soon have macaroni and cheese or hot dogs.

I'd try a Fort Wilderness cabin or a suite at All Star Music (you get two full bathrooms here). I'm almost positive you could still stay at the Poly (or Contemporary) because one of your kids is under 3 and would use a crib.

Have fun!

I've not made it a secret that I love the Poly. And, since the 1 yr. old is considered an infant, you can stay there for another 2 years! There's a lot of stuff to do there, and it's a bit smaller than some of the resorts, and so does not seem as overwhelming as some that we've been to. Also, the kids love to dig in the sand and play in the pool. The only thing that we don't like about Poly is that there is no hot-tub!

If you can stay at the Poly again, I would do that or the FW cabins.

I agree that a 2 bedroom Villa would probably be your best bet.

Another vote for the cabins at Fort Wilderness! We spent 2 weeks there in Dec of 2005 and another Dec of 2006. It is so nice to have the extra room in the back for the kids. DH and I would relax in the living room once they got settled at night. We didn't feel lik we were all on top of each other. It's also nice to go out onto the deck in the morning and have a cup of coffee!

The privacy there is also fantastic! Since you are not connected to any other room, nor do you share a hallway, it is wonderfully quiet! This might be something to consider with a little one coming along!

I would compare the price of a DVC villa and Fort Wilderness. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
