| If you had to choose - new TV or stay at the Poly? I'm dead serious with this question too - so PLEASE help me! The only thing I'm torn on is this - the TV would obviously last longer than a 7 or 8 day trip to the World. However, since we're not guaranteed tomorrow, I would absolutely love to experience going "deluxe" for just one trip! |

| I think I'd have to take the stay at the Poly! Unless you're an avid TV watcher and get an enormous amount of joy from watching TV, then I feel you're creating such a wonderful lasting memory staying at the Polynesian. I haven't stayed there since 1987 but have some great memories of that vacation!!! |

| If your TV is still working fine, I'd go with the Poly! I've always wanted to stay there myself. However... if TV might go and you wouldn't be able to replace it, then I'd save Poly for another trip. I don't think I could survive without Gray's Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters!

| I know you the Poly and have been waiting to stay there for ages. How bad do you 'need' the TV? What do the kids think? I, personally, would lean towards the Poly . . . and who knows, maybe you'll get one of those 40% off e-mails and be able to afford both!

| I'd lean towards a cheaper TV and a stay in a moderate or value. At least it's still a trip to Disney ![]()

| In one word....Poly! This is your dream! It was mine for 36 years and I could have saved money and stayed elsewhere, but....... the memories we made there are priceless. (See sig picture. . And I will forever smile when I think about the magic of a dream finally coming true.

| That is tough, and as much as the Poly is my "dream resort" and would love to stay there one day, I would buy the TV & stay at a mod. resort, or maybe WL or AK. I was hoping for a postcard discount for this trip, but no luck! Good luck!!

| My TV works fine <knocking on wood>. I should have added more info to the original question but I'm still recuperating from the trip and was nodding off as I created this thread. I would like to buy one of those flat screened TV's-not the huge ones that hang on the wall, but your average-joe sized TV. We don't watch an extraordinary amount of television-just your average amount. To those that spoke of staying in the value resorts since we're just there to sleep/shower-you're absolutely right, and I'm not bashing Pop Century resort-wise at all. We had a very good time there. The things that got most aggravating to our stay was going down for a bus (at the suggested hour, hour & a half before a ressie) and having to wait with the other 2980 guests and watching two or three busloads go before you even got on. Plus the busses do NOT run like they're supposed to-you'd think the driver would radio ahead to dispatch saying there's X amount of people in line, send another bus before 20 minutes-that wasn't the case. I knew that going into the Pop and we made the best of it, but more times than not after standing in line a half hour or so, checking the time over and over, and then pulling the kids out and running for a taxi is what I had to do to make our breakfast/dinner reservations. That got quite expensive since the average taxi fare was $15. If it came down to going or not going I would stay there again in a heartbeat and perhaps rent a car or find another cheaper alternative way to get around if that's possible. I do, however, once in my lifetime (and my kids', before they leave the house) have the dream of staying at the Poly. This next trip <Lord Willing and knocking on wood> may possibly be the only time I can make that happen. The kids desperately want to stay at the Poly as well as the AKL and WL. We have talked about it and they know if I can't make the Polynesian happen then the "alternate" for this next trip will be Wilderness Lodge first, then Animal Kingdom Lodge second. Another reason for wanting the Poly is there's a strong possibility my parents will be able to make this trip and I wanted a room big enough for all of us. Plus, the only parks they would go to would be the Magic Kingdom and Epcot-I wanted easy transportation options for them to be able to go to both those parks with little or no effort (aka the monorail). |

| I think, judging by your most recent post, you've already decided in your heart of hearts. It sounds to me like you'd rather go with the stay at the Poly, so I'd follow your heart on this one.
