| Poor Housekeeping/Customer Service at the Polynesian I am hoping to stay at the Polynesian on my next WDW vacation. It looks just beautiful, I loved the rooms on the slide show on Allears.net, and my daughter loves Stitch! Additionally, the convenience of being on the monorail can't be beat and we were disappointed in the Contemporary. However, after reading reviews of the Polynesian on Allears.net, a recurring theme seems to be poor housekeeping, especially in the bathroom areas. Also, customer service seems to be lacking. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am so disillusioned...I really want to stay at the Polynesian--it looks so beautiful and it has everything we want! But I don't want to stay in a room with filthy bathrooms and apathetic managers. |

| We had poor housekeeping in August 2006 on our stay. One of the tables (that goes underneath another) wasn't clean, there was sticky stuff all over it It was a bit disappointing. I think we had some other problems (had to call for extra toilet paper and towels at some point as well).

| I have stayed at the Poly in the past and have never experienced any housekeeping problems. The room has always been very clean and well taken care of. We love staying at the Poly for many reasons, one of them being the friendly cast members!

| We were there in August and didn't have a problem. My son even dumped the ends of a potato chip bag and it was cleaned up very well. The staff was very helpful. Sometimes I think more people write reveiws if things are not up to their particular standards, then people who are happy with things. Which is a shame. The resort is very pretty and convenient, we loved the pathway to the TTC. We would definitly stay here again. |

| Last year we stayed at the polynesian...had some problems with mousekeeping!!! Seems like our room was never vacuumed very well...we'd always find crumbs near the beds and such... Then my biggest issue was my daughter got wicked sick...puked at epcot...came home...then puked in our room...from our bed all the way to the bathroom. Called right away asked for someone to come down...never CAME. Walked down to the desk...after 2 calls, still no one came....I put a notice on the door do not disturb because my daughter fell asleep....we get a phone call at 9pm, saying they just came down but no one was there...UM, we were there.....So I ended up cleaning the room, and the next day..all they did was vacuum....never really cleaned the carpets or anything.....VERY UPSET! We were even in the concierge room in Hawaii....no on APOLOGIZED or nothing! We gave it a second thought about staying there and chose WL this year.

| Although our room was clean, the balcony and chairs on it we very dirty. Our ironing board was broken and we had left a note, but we didn't receive a new one, until we called. We only got towel animals one day, whereas at POR we got them every day. |

| While I haven't stayed at the Poly, my daughter napped in the lobby twice this week (lol, it's got that waterfall that seems to knock her out instantly, and it's so much easier to take the monorail there than to take a bus back to POR) and the cast members I encountered were awesome. There was even a lady that brought around fresh baked cookies. I was in heaven! So I can't speak to the housekeeping aspect, but I talked with a bunch of staff members and really liked them. |

I think the key to your happiness with mousekeeping is to make sure your problem is addressed when it happens so that it won't occur day after day. I hear a lot of people who have been very angry with their room/service/mousekeeping but they did absolutely nothing to take control of the situation - they just made themselves miserable by keeping quiet and waiting for the problem to resolve itself. How will anyone know you are unsatisfied if you don't tell them? You don't have to yell and scream, but you might have to be persistent to get the changes you want. If I were you, I'd risk it and stay at the Poly, but focus my attention on the reasons why I'm staying vs. the reasons why I'm hesitant. Esp. if the thing I'm hesitant about is housekeeping, since you have the power to change it if you aren't satisfied. Lastly, as a IMHO... Deb's website isn't all that great so I'd do more research at other websites before making a decision based on the reviews found there.

| December 2006 Mom and I stayed there it was our Dream Resort and had it so built up in our heads that when things weren't perfect it was disappointing. But I will say that the Mousekeeper we had tried hard and did take care of us. The room was in disrepair. It was supposedly a "newly remodelled" room and the tall cabinet was broken, there was crayon on all the drawers and there was some sorta glue on our patio that looked like a PROTEIN SPILL.... Instead of paying for new tiles for the patio Disney thought having glue looking like puke would be better??!!!??? The front desk staff's customer no service skills were horrible. I left the resort in Tears...Not from being sad I was leaving but from the way I was treated and in 30+ trips this was #2 in a list of 3 trips that rank as the worst hotel experience ever! 1st was offsite 2nd was the Poly 3rd was POFQ. I got home I wrote a 2 page letter complimenting the Cast Members who over the trip had done a fabulous job but I also stated my concerns, the hurt I felt, and what had happened. I got zip for a response. But I called Guest Services a few months later to discuss a different matter and they saw I had a letter on file with them and we spent many days discussing things, numerous phone calls. They listened and we were upgraded on our September trip to make up for it. My Moral to this (sorry) long post.... That while you may picture something and dream of something leave those at the door when you arrive, let the resort or whatever it is happen as it happens that way there are no pre judgements on how it should be. If something happens don't wait till you get home to deal with it, work it out while your there. If you encounter something great then compliment them. Thats my experience. FWIW

| I've never stayed at the Poly but when we stayed at the GF we had several issues and when I addressed them, they didn't do much to help. I was really disappointed because for the money you would think the service would've been better. I agree with Amy when you get your hopes up and something happens it hurts more. I say give it a second chance and if something happens, you won't be so surprised but if nothing happens, than you will have had a GREAT time. I've also enjoyed the reviews on Allears and always keep an open mind when reading any review.

| We stayed at the Poly this past September and had no problems with the housekeeping staff. We did have maintenance come in one day to remove a lightbulb over a picture by the door, which was no big deal, but it was never replaced during our stay. Both DH and I thought it was odd for them to come in and take the lightbulb out, but never bother to replace it. When DH went to use the coffee maker on our first morning, he discovered it was full of mold! But, after a call to the concierge desk, a new one arrived within minutes and the CM who brought it told us over and over again how sorry they were we had a coffee maker in such a state in our room. Other than that, everything else was fine and the one issue we had (the coffee maker) was promptly addressed.

| We just got back from the Poly and has no problem at all. My parents room had someone smoking in it before they got there and you could totally smell it in the room. My mom called the front desk and they sent someone over with a machine that removes smells. It ran in the room for two hours and when it was done the room was great. The housekeeping staff even came back into the room afterwards and cleaned the room again. We never had a problem with bad service there. We had a problem with bell services tranfering our luggage to the Beach CLub Villas but that is a different issue. I would stay at the Poly, the amount of times you run into a problem is not worth missing the chace to stay at an awesome resort.

| Our first stay at the Poly was last May, and everything was fine. The room was very clean and service was friendly and prompt. I have nothing but compliments for our experience. I don't see it as being much of a risk--anymore so than the variability one sees at any resort--we are definitely planning to stay there again. BTW, we were in Tahiti, and the access to the Transportation and Ticket Center was excellent. We were also in a Magic Kingdom view room and it was fabulous to be able to sit on the veranda (lanai?) and watch the fireworks, and then watch the monorails and ferries take the guests back to their cars. But you don't have to have an MK view room to enjoy this because you can just walk over to the beach. It is an exceptional resort with mature landscaping and about the largest regular rooms to be found on property. My only complaint is a mild one, but it is Captain Cook's. I did not like the touchscreen ordering system. Why? Because you are literally locked into their selections and thus there are no customizations, such as leaving out tomatoes if you don't like them. But given the myriad places to dine all around (especially Kona Cafe), it's no big deal. I hope you will give it a try AND you will have a magical time there!

| We 've stayed in the Poly twice in the past and have reservations there for our House of Mouse trip this summer. We adore it. We have never had any complaints about service or housekeeping. We were always treated with respect and courtesy. The CM's are awesome. The only thing that I could say that is in any way negative is that on our first stay there, Cap'n Cook's was being renovated and all you gould get were prepackaged sandwiches and chips. But that is no longer an issue, so I say go for it. |
