| Shades of Green Hi Everyone! This is my 1st post. I have been reading for a few weeks now. I know that few people have experience with SOG but hopefully someone can answer my question. How far is it from SOG to the Polynesian? I was told it is across the street but... I want to know if I should realistically just expect to take the bus from SOG instead of the monorail etc.. Am so bummed we are not eligible for the dining plan but the hotel savings makes up for it. Is there a map that shows the locations of the hotels relative to each other and the parks? We have a 1030 breakfast at 1900 Park Faire and am wondering where that is in relation to the park. Do I have to go into the park to get there? Help! Thanks!!! |

| Here's a link to one of the maps on WillCad's site, zoom in some and look at the Magic Kingdom area and you can see where SOG is in relation to the Poly... http://willcad.org/maps/misc/2006-12...ns_2006-12.jpg

| If you have a spiral Passporter, the map of the whole resort area on the back flap has SOG and Poly on it. It's just a short walk and there is a paved sidewalk between Poly and SOG. In fact, we often walk to Poly to catch the monorail instead of waiting for the bus to the TTC. Enjoy your stay at SOG. We love it there! |

| Shades of Green is about a 10 minute walk to the Polynesian.

| Welcome to the boards. DH and I stay at SOG all the time and love it. As others have said, for adults, the walk to the Polynesian is about 10 minutes. It could take a little longer if you are walking with young children. It is an enjoyable walk, and if you are lucky, you might even get to see a small alligator (harmless) by one of the few ponds you pass on your way! SOG also has the "Shady Shuttle" (large golf cart) that you might be able to catch a ride in to the edge of the property making it even quicker to the Polynesian. Request the Shady Shuttle up by the luggage hold area. There are also SOG buses that run on a set schedule that will take you to the Ticket and Transportation Center, Animal Kingdon, Disney Studios, water parks and Downtown Disney. Carry the schedule with you so you know what times pick ups are at the various parks. If you don't want to wait for the SOG bus, you can always catch a bus to the Polynesian and walk from there. The 1900 Park Fare is at the Grand Floridian. You will not need to go into the park to get to the Grand Floridian. If you are going there directly from SOG, your best bet would be to walk to the Polynesian and catch the monorail and get off at the Grand Floridian stop. Do ask if you have any other questions about SOG.

| Reminder: The busses to the Transportation Ticket Center travel more frequently than the ones heading to the parks. If we are not walking to the Poly to catch the monorail, we use the TTC as our "hub." We never mind walking to the Poly, based on all the great food there is to eat in the world! NEXT TRIP MAY 2009! ![]()

| Grace, to the boards, We also stay at SoG everytime we go. We love the convenience of walking the 10 mins to the Poly and hopping on the Monorail. Plus it is such a nice walk thru the Poly grounds with all the beautful plants and flowers... Also it is only about a 20 minute walk to the TTC where you can catch the monorail to Epcot. The pathway winds thru the Poly to the TTC. Ditto just walk to the Poly and catch the Monorail to the GF for your breakfast at 1900.
