Pop Century or All Star Movies

I am planning on bringing my 6 year old neice to WDW in December. I have made a reservation at SOG. However, when I was pricing out Disney resorts, I can get a much better deal in December if I was to stay at a Value resort and included the Dining Plan. So, my question..which do you prefer and why? Pop Century or All Star Movies? Thanks.

Having stayed at both, I would have to pick Pop. The rooms, public areas and theming are equivalent, but I liked that Pop did not share bus service with other resorts (all three All Star resorts may share a bus at times).

I would like to try PoP as well though! I think the next visit we will!

Pop Century; hands down. Pop has their own buses, the resort is newer, and the theming is a million times better then AS resorts.

I've never stayed at either so I can't comment for sure. I've had friends that stayed at Pop and LOVED it. Even better than moderates. But then again I had a boss who was the biggest PITA about what hotels he would stay in when traveling on business and he thought the All Star Movies was just fine. I guess I am no help!

We haved stayed at ASMO and loved it, but I would choose POP since we have never been there. You will love ASMO, it is themed very well and a SUPER resort.

I've been to both Movies and Pop. I like them both and can't go wrong at either.

Some notes:
I like how the food court at Movies is seperate from the gift shop.

Movies has two pools, Pop has three.

Pop is newer, but appeared to be getting very worn back in Sept.

Pop has it's own bus, Movies will share w/ the other All Star resorts.

Between the two, I'd choose ASM. I just like the theme much better.

I've stayed at both and prefer the Pop. The themimg is great and there are 3 pool and a water play area too. The larger than life icon are so much fun. It's own bus is a plus.

My DD who is 4 would tell you to stay at the "Rock and Roll" hotel. (That would be Pop). We've stayed at Music and Pop, Pop is the best hands down! The resturant is better there as is the drink station. Also, the pools are cooler, the playground is better, the rooms are nicer and newer, the buses are less crowded and you can see Epcot fireworks from the walkway out back. My family LOVES Pop Century. We are going to stay there again in May.

And definetly do the dining plan!! Don't forget to take advantage of character meals!!!

Let me start by saying I have never stayed at Pop but I stayed at Movies and loved it. I would go back there again in a heartbeat. The themeing was great and the food court was also very good. We stayed in the Mighty Ducks bldg which was a great location and had it's own pool plus it was right next to the bus stop for AS Music so at the end of the night you could pick which bus line was shortest and get on that and be back at the resort in no time. DD loved it when we were there she was 9 at the time but has already asked to go back.

My vote would be for Pop....having the bus for your resort only is a huge plus...especially at closing time!! The theming is great and even if a lot of it goes over your neice's head, its bright and colorful and fun. I've stayed there twice and I'm going back this month....

I have never stayed at All-Stars, but we really LOVED Pop! We also liked being able to see the Epcot fireworks from right outside our room door. Not sharing busses is always a plus in my book.
Having said that, next time we go to a Value, I might just choose All-Stars since we have never been there, and I always enjoying trying out a new Resort.
Also, it sounds as though, from the previous answers you've received, that you would probably enjoy either. (as long as you're not planning your trip for when all the cheerleaders/school groups are there--I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that they don't ever stay at Pop, but that they stay at All-Stars).
Either way, have a great time!!!
