| WL or FW cabin I've got to make a decision today. Here's the party - me, hubby, 10yo d. , 7yo s.; not rental car, picky, light eaters. Going 11/2-7. Should we stay in WL for the hotel experience which we all love or stay in a cabin which is less expensive, gives us privacy (good thing), and we can prepare our own meals sometimes (not much). If we stay in a cabin, is there a location better than others? Don't want to hear buses but don't want to walk forever to get to them. Decisions, decisions ![]() |

| That's a tough one IMO. I love the cabins and even though I haven't stayed at WL, I also enjoyed our stay at AS Sports for just what you said - not having to walk forever to get to the buses. Actually I don't think the walks are all the far for the cabins anyway, no matter where you stay, for me it's the waiting for the internal buses to get to the external buses that's the killer. So I guess my question to you is do you want to wait for one set of buses or two? Hope this helps some.

| I think I would vote for the WL. I don't want to cook or clean when I'm on vacation! I'm also not much of a camper. The WL is really nice inside and you will feel more "spoiled." But either way, you can't go wrong.

| I love both places! Here is what I can offer for you: FW- request loop 2100. We stayed there last winter and it was super quite! You will always have the suggestion of noise from the buses since all the loops are right off the main road of the resort. But it isn't a bother, honestly. The other thing to keep in mind is the Settlement and Meadow Trading Post are where the 'grocery' stores are. They aren't fully stocked ( meaning full selection) and prices are on the high side. We loved having our own space and when the kids went to bed, we had the front room to hang out in and relax. It was worth it! WL- our other favorite! We adore this place. The room are going to be smaller then the cabin ( as you already are aware) but the rooms are still spacious for four people. You can get a pretty quite room if you request being in the end of the wings, on upper floors. Something else to consider is what type of look do you want for your stay? WL was recently renovated (within the past two years) and is really nice and fresh looking. The cabins...well...hey could use some minor updating. They aren't scary or nasty ( I can send you pictures if you would like to see what it looks like from our stay). We stayed in the cabins twice last year and just found the small imperfections to add to the character. If I were in your shoes, and I have been, I have always taken FW as the choice. It was just a perfect retreat from the parks. Of course, WL is great too since it provides the same feeling, just in a resort feel. If you are keen to use the pools, I would go WL over FW since the pools are right there. At FW, you might have a small distance to get to them. I hope that was helpful. We love both places 100% and it's always hard to decided. But in the end, we have a 16mth old and 5 yr old so the cabins make more sense for us. Plus, we do have our car with us as we drive in. Good Luck deciding, you really can't go wrong either way.

| The only negative (and a huge one to me) for FW is the transportation issues. As Darlene mentioned, you will have to take an internal bus and then take another bus or a boat to get to your destination. Want to go to the store, or the pool? More than likely, you will have to get on a bus, unless you are lucky enough to be close to where you are going. I have never stayed in a cabin there, but we have camped, and I wouldn't do it without a car. Even then, I don't think you can park at the pools, and only at the stores for 5 minutes. |

| We stayed in the FW cabins in May and fell in love with them! I too am no camper, but I loved the "rustic" touches that Disney added. I agree with Linda that they are due to be updated, but they are still clean and were very enjoyable to us. We stayed in the 2700 loop and loved it. We had our car and like to drive to the parks, so it was a perfect location for us. We stayed 7 days and had breakfast in the cabin for 6. We loved coming back for a nap and having room to spread out.The parking issues are bit of a bummer. We had to rush our shopping each time we parked at the Trading Post. It was Me, DH, DD who was 3 then and DS who was 1 and my DMIL. I haven't stayed at the WL yet, so I cannot compare the 2. But, I have to say the cabins put a spell on us!
