When you book a water view that means they can put you anywhere there is a water view. If you want to be by OPR than you need to book a preferred room. That way you will be in Martinque or Trindad preferred rooms. I don't know how that will work with a water view & then requesting close to OPR. Last year I ask the same question that you did & Kelly (goofy4goofy) a CM wrote to me. She said that if being close to OPR is important than book preferred. If you want a water view & don't care where your put than book a water view. If you have any question she will probably be willing to help.

Amy is correct. If you want a room close to OPR, you need to get a Preferred room.

Go with a standard room and request Aruba for the next closest area. We stayed in Jamaica and walked across the bridges/island to get to OPR. It wasn't bad either. I think paying extra for Water view isn't worth it at a moderate resort, that's why I say go with standard room.

We stayed in Jamacia at CBR. If you look at their map you can see which bldgs in Jamacia & Aruba are closest to the bridge. It's only a short, very plesant walk to the food court. The grounds at CBR are beautiful and fun to explore, esp on the island that connects the bridge to the food court. We stayed in Jamacia 42 which was close to the Jamacia pool and on the lake.

We stayed in Aruba this past year in a standard room and had a courtyard view. The water views at CBR are really nothing spectacular. I would book a standard room in Aruba 51 or 52 if there aren't any preferred rooms available.

When are you going? Right now there is construction going on at the main pool, near Trinidad North and OPR. The pictures I have seen show typical construction mess and debris and I would assume noise. The pathway is altered as well in that area. Martinique is the other area for preferred rooms. We have stayed there before and it is nice, but really no different than any other room, except for a view that we didn't ever see because we were in the parks all the time.
Personally, we book a standard room in Aruba or Jamaica. The resort is spread out, but it is a gorgeous walk in the early mornings and evenings. The bridge across the lake and island leads directly to the food court and OPR. There are nice little picnic areas and hammocks. Very pretty.

You could also request Martinque Building 23 & to be close to the quiet pool. This is right next to laundry & the quiet pool. It is not preferred & a short walk to the OPR. We were in Martinque 24 this past year & could see part of 23 rooms from ours. It was a 3-4min walk to OPR.
