resort cards

when I last visited WDW we stayed offsite and were issued a pass made of a light cardboard. I stayed onsite in 95 but can't remember what we were given. i am guessing we will get a keycard which will contain all of our info such as meal plan, park passes and so on. if so do they come in a holder to wear around your neck and if not do they have something like that, that you can purchase?

If you're staying onsite - you will get a Keys to the World card... it will have your park admissions, meal plan credits (if you have the DDP), and it will be your key to your resort room. (More info from Passporter: Key to the World Card at Walt Disney World Resort -- PassPorter.com)

Disney does not provide a free holder, but you can purchase a pouch at the Passporter Store: PassPorter PassHolder Pouch -- Store and Safeguard Your Cash, Cards, and More!

they don't give you one, but they have some for purchase at the resorts that are water proof... and they aren't terribly expensive

Just keep it away from your cell phones, cameras, and credit cards, even other room keys. It will demagnatize (sp?) It seemed like we were always needing to go and get the card fixed.

The card holders they sell at the resorts are cute, but I find them hard to get my things in and out of -- they're horizontal rather than vertical. (There are pictures at LaughingPlace.com of what is sold in the parks/resorts.)

Personally, I think the PassPorter pouch is idea. It's lightweight, fairly water-proof (certainly enough for splashing and rain), has lots of pouches and makes it easy to get things in and out.

Good luck!
