| There aren't certain floors - but certain trails that are dedicated to savannah view rooms - there are 3 different savannahs (and they are adding new savannahs for the new DVC building) - the Sunset Savannah, The Arusha Savannah and Uzima Savannah. The lodge is built kind of like a horseshoe - with a savannah on either side, and a savannah in the middle. We've stayed at AKL twice now, and both times we requested a Zebra Trail, Arusha savannah view. Zebra trail is on the right side of the horseshoe as you face the entrance. Arusha savannah is the center savannah that you can see from the firepit. We stayed concierge level in a deluxe room (there are five of us - and this was prior to DVC taking over those rooms), so we were on the fifth floor.

| When you enter the lobby you are on the 3rd floor of the hotel. A 3rd floor room is the best. It is close enough the get a good look at the animals from your balcony and still high enough to see out over the savannah. 2nd floor rooms are too low to see out over the savannah very well and higher floors don't give you a very close-up view of the animals. We have stayed 2nd, 3rd and 6th floor suites at the very end of the trail to the left (the name escapes me). I do believe a room on the inside of the horseshoe will give you a better view. |
