I would ask for a room away from the pools--especially if you plan on going to sleep early. People stay out all hours of the night. (People like me)

It really sucks at POP. Actually, now I bring a box of Puffs, since it is multi purpose. I always bring a hotpot, because I like to drink tea in the morning without hoofing it to the foodcourt. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the room.

I agree...the toilet paper at POP does suck but interestingly enough, we went over to AKL for dinner at Boma, and of course, I had to use the restroom. I couldn't believe it but the toilet paper was better there!!!! I guess you get what you pay for....including the toilet paper!!!!

The toilet paper is "moderate" at POFQ, and even better at WL and BWV. So true about getting what you pay for!

This goes for any WDW resort really...I you're a coffee drinker, bring a coffee pot and your own coffee. The coffee at WDW is terrible. Ditto on the refillable mugs. The frozen cokes are great.

I totally agree with 80's bldg and the short walk across the parking lot to the busses. Also the 80's pool was one of the least crowded during our stay. We had a third floor room in building 9 facing the pool and never had a problem with noise plus the pool was right there when we wanted to go swimming.

I loved the Tye Dye cheesecake, but I agree on the Pizza. All Pizza at WDW is terrible in my opinion. First pizza my kids ever encountered that they would not eat. If you are without a rental car, and want better Pizza, here is the number of a local Pizza Hut that delivers: 407-239-0205 I realize Pizza Hut is not everyone's favorite but it is much better than the stuff Disney serves.

If you want to get to the parks early in the morning, order breakfast cereals and milk, etc from Garden Grocer and bring a collapsible cooler. Being able to get a quick breakfast in the room without fighting your way through the food court helps get you to the parks by opening time.

Take a leieurely stroll around the resort property to take in all the displays and read the signs and the catch phrases on top of the buildings. Take a walk up the stairs in different buildings to check out the different views. Take half a day to try out each of the three pools. It is a really nice and interesting resort.

Brent

my thoughts on POP!

I personally love it! I actually like it better than the moderate that I have stayed at! The atmosphere just can't be beat! And for an 80's girl like me it just takes me back in time. I can sit by the 80's pool and feel like I was magically transported back about 20 years. (as if......LOL) Bon Jovi, Def, Air Supply, Chicago, Bruce and all the rest of the best.
Tie dye cheesecake rocks the earth! That stuff should sooooo be illegal, but I am glad it isn't! LOL Brents right, pizza there is awful!
We do take our own laundry soap too since it is so expensive there! Make sure to bring quarters too if you are doing laundry.
The resort itself offers so much to do. My kids love the arcade, walking on the bridge, and just walking around looking at everything!
The toiletries are very basic there, if you addicted to quality hair care products / soap ect you might want to bring your own. I am kinda fussy about that stuff so I pack what I can.
I know you'll love it! We do!. This is our 4th stay there when we go in August this year!

Dont wait till the last min. if you want to do laundry the area we were in the machines were full so I had to pick another time to do ours. You can walk to one of the other area's but I was not up for a walk with a bag of laundry and a 3 year old who wanted to swim.

......Pizza Hut....is NOT pizza!! ! Ever!! No matter HOW hungry you are!!

......Domino's......is NOT even food!!!

.....all that being said....I love POP....I love the frozen Coke (particularly when Jim Beam is added to it)......I love the Tie Dyed cheesecake....I love the food court, even when it's crowded.....I love ground floor poolside rooms in the 60's building because you feel like you're "part of the action" (and it's a really short walk to Petal Bar)

....only thing I wish I could do there that I've not been able to do before is stay FOR TWO WEEKS instead of just 10 days!!!

I always pack a small desk top fan so that I can have some noise to drown out the noises outside.

We take a HEPA air cleaner that generates both White Noise and cleans the air. It helps keep the noises that people comment on from other rooms from bothering us and it helps keep the room smelling fresh too.

We also take several power strips because we need to charge cell phones, camera batteries, and power the laptop to pull the photos off the storage media onto the hard drive and burn a cd (paranoid I know but I am NOT going to loose those photos!).

Question about the toilet paper - is it similar to the type you'd find in the public restrooms at say a hospital or a college, something like that......or is it worse?
