| For those of you who have stayed at POP.... Do you have any tips? Like boy I wish we would have brought this or that or this sure would be handy. Or we wouldn't leave home with out this for the room. It's our first time in a value resort so any tips would be helpful. Thanks!

| I bring mw popcorn also! Cheap snack instead of paying for it in the parks. I don't like to pay $12/nt for a fridge, so I bring a collapsible cooler and fill it with ice to keep various things cool. If you are going to be plugging a lot of things in, you might want to think about a power strip. (Phone, camera, iPod, etc.) This may sound weird, but I bring my own toilet paper. It really sucks at POP. Actually, now I bring a box of Puffs, since it is multi purpose. I always bring a hotpot, because I like to drink tea in the morning without hoofing it to the foodcourt. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the room.

| Get the refillable mugs and try out the Frozen Coke machines. That's our favorite treat there.

| If you prefer quiet, try to get a room on the top floor and facing towards the lake. Bring a cooler and snacks/juice boxes/water if you can to save money. If you will be using the Food Court, try to go at off-peak times-- it can get very crowded and loud. We loved our vacation at Pop!

| 1) 80's Bldg B rooms are standard but really close to the bus stops if you cut across the 70's parking lot! Pop Century Resort Map 2) Ditto on the Refillable mug and Frozen Coke! I would bring mine down at breakfast for a hot chocolate thne and fill it up w/ FC before heading out to the park. Then when I got off the bus, I would fill it up again before heading to the room (they have a mug washing station). I definitely got my money's worth. 3) Don't miss the huge choc cupcake/muffin w/ white icing & sprinkles in the bakery area. In Dec 2006 it was $1.89 and big enough for 2 people to split! Or it makes a great breakfast w/ that hot choc I mentioned in #2 - LOL! Talk about a sugar high! ![]()

You can buy a hotel size coffee maker for maybe 12 bucks and bring it with to make in-room coffee if you need a caffeine fix before you can walk to the food court. Last edited by Sandra Bostwick : 05-28-2008 at 04:56 PM. | |

| My first stay at POP was a couple months after they opened. They've always had the Frozen Cokes.

| Definately detergent and don't forget quarters for the machines. It's a hassle to get them at night while everyone is in line trying to get food or trinkets at the store. If you have a little one--definately bring ziploc bags or walmart bags. Last time we were a ways down from the elevators and when the baby had a bad bad diaper we would ziploc it and put it outside the room (but not make people smell it!) and then leave and try to dump it somewhere where no one would smell it like a big dumpster or such. Oh and bring swimmers ear for the kids and you who are swimming. Saves a ton on earaches. |

| We just left there a few weeks ago. We had a wonderful time. We requested a room in the 70's bldg. We faced the lake. Very quiet and enjoyable, but we were a little far from the pools & bus stop. We would request that area again. It seems like the areas around the pools may be really loud. make sure to let your mousekeeper know if you are celebrating any special event. We had a great one and were celebrating my dd birthday. She "talked" with Mickey and dd got a little surprise in the room that day. |

| We stayed at Pop last fall. Things I suggest....a throw away cooler to keep small things cool. I am not willing to pay the extra to have the fridge in my room so this would work out better. It also helps if you have a rental car and can get to store, you can save a ton of money buying larger packs of snacks instead of paying Disney prices for single servings....though they do have some bigger package things. Be sure to tell mousekeeping if there is a special event you are traveling for. My son got a birthday card and balloons from Chip N' Dale last year, it made his day. They definitely will go out of their way to make things special for you. Love the frozen coke! My son loves it too!! This is probably his most favorite thing about Pop. Get the refillable mug. Though our walk to the food court was a ways, it still worked out. I would fill it in the morning before heading to the parks and then fill it up again when we got home. Of course, I didn't like carrying it around so I didn't take it everyday but it worked out nice the days I did.... We didn't spend much time at the pool but I bet it would come in handy if you spent a day swimming or just hanging out at the resort. And I save the best tip for last...................drum roll please............ Whatever you do, never, ever, ever shut your finger in the bathroom door. It hurts very, very badly. I know you may be thinking it sounds like a good idea but I am telling you from my own experience, DON'T DO IT! Really, it hurts, you will be sad, and a tear very well could start to form in your eye. Not to mention, if you do shut your finger in the door, the ice machine closest to your room will not be working at that time. So, if you still want to do it, even after reading this....go to someone else's room and make sure the nearest ice machine is in working order. |
