| Pop Century or Port Orleans French Quarter? (And more q's) While I've been to Disneyland a million times (I'm from Los Angeles) this will be my first DisneyWORLD trip. I'm ~so~ excited. Besides price, is there a reason why I'd choose Pop Century (Pop) over Port Orleans French Quarter (POFQ)? How is the transportation from Pop to WDW and the other parks? To Downtown Disney? How is the transportation from POFQ to WDW and the other parks? To Downtown Disney? My fiance and I aren't in the greatest shape but we can handle the 5 or so miles a day that Disney entails. We aren't terribly snobby eaters, either and don't need FINE dining or anything. Also, one last question...at what point does getting the annual pass become cost effective? At 10-12 days, is it better to just get the annual pass? What are your thoughts? Is that TOO long a Disney vacation? In advance, thank-you all VERY much to all your answers!

| Price is the only reason I choose Pop Century over POFQ. It's been a while since I've been at Pop, but I was very impressed with the bus system at POFQ in Sept 2006, and there is nothing better than taking the boat down the Sassagoula into DTD. ![]() You're not going to find many people around here saying that 10-12 WDW days is "too long." : ![]()

| Yeah, I know. *laugh* I just thought I'd ask as my fiance wanted me to. And we are to "adults" w/out kids so I guess It's more romantic, too. Also, one last question...at what point does getting the annual pass become cost effective? At 10-12 days, is it better to just get the annual pass? What are your thoughts? Will it also get us into all the water parks, like Blizzard Beach/Typhoon Lagoon, etc?

| At more than 10 days it becomes a better idea to get an AP--plus there are room discounts and other discounts that come with being an AP holder--it may make it worth it even with fewer than 11 days.

: Twice, we've stayed on property for 19 nights and still haven't seen and done everything. A lot of Brits stay for 14 nights, as we travel so far and my advice would always be to stay for as long as you can afford - both in terms of money and time. There is so much to do at Disney and it allows you to enjoy the parks - and everything else there - at a more relaxed pace.

| I have stayed at both resorts and POFQ is my absolute favorite resort. As 2 adults I believe that POFQ is the better choice assuming that the expense is within your budget. As mentioned you might be able to get a resort discount with the AP as well. A regular AP does not get you into the water parks. You would need the premium AP for that and it probably is not cost effective. I believe you might be able to get a discount on the water park admission with the AP however. The AP would also get you discounts on behind the scenes tours and at some restaurants and stores. Always ask!

| We stayed at POFQ in July 2005 and loved it. And at night when the lights around the paths are lit up it would be a very romantic little walk. We loved the everything about the resort. I've never stayed at Pop so I can't comment on that resort but we loved the 2 All Stars we stayed at. |

| I would LOVE POFQ...I just worry about price. We could save SO much money just by Pop. You know? Oh the decisions!!!

| I've never stayed at POFQ but I have stayed at Pop. I always travel with my DS and he loves the Pop resort. There is so much to do there. If you are looking to save money, Pop is a good way to go. On our trips we usually spend most of our time at the parks and very little time at the resort....of course, bumping it up to a moderate would always be nice but with the amount of time we spend in the room it really isn't worth it for us. When you are considering resorts, take that into consideration. How much time will you spend at the resort? Would you and your fiance fit comfortably in a value resort or do you need the extra room? THe transportation from Pop to all of the parks, DTD, and the water parks is not bad at all. The buses run frequently and we've never had to wait an extended period of time to get on one. In the evenings, after park close, the wait was generally a little longer than any other time throughout the day but you have to consider the fact that lots of people stay until close so there is more of need for the bus service. I will add that last year, there was one evening where the MK bus line was ginormous.....the All Star bus was not crowded and the driver did take some of us Pop guests. Of course, the All Star people were dropped off first but that is to be expected. Even with that being done, the ride wasn't terrible. I my opinion, the park to resort bus system is set up very nicely, Disney sure knows what they are doing there!! I don't think you would have any issues with this at Pop. As far as the AP, that is something you have to look at and see what the price difference is. I've noticed a time or two that it would have saved me a lot of money to just purchase the AP versus the 10 day pass. Good luck with your decisions and happy planning. ![]() |

| Is the wait for the bus service really long at Pop? I'd love the POFQ...I just think it's out of our price range. (for this trip) This way if we save $ on the room we can splurge on souviners, new clothes for the trip, etc. You know? And you're totally right. We're not going to be in the room that much except to sleep. We might want to splurge on the DDP since we're saving $ by staying at a Value Resort.
