Please help me choose!

I recently booked a 4 night stay at Poly. But since we are now flying instead of driving, we can stay another night. Poly has no availability on either end for the extra night. Grand Floridian does have the 5 nights. With discount, GF will be not much more than Poly.

DS and DD are 9. We also have an infant who will be 10 months at the time of the trip. DH and I stayed at Poly in 1998 and loved it - we really wanted to stay there on this trip as we have never stayed there with the kids. But, we really also want the extra night, and I don't want to switch resorts. Since we have the baby, we want to be on monorail line. CR has no availability.

What would you do? I am concerned that the kids would not like GF as much if we stayed there.

Thanks,
Carole

I understand your desire to not switch resorts, but I think I would do that. You can continue to check back and perhaps get the Poly for the first night as well. Disney will handle all luggage and such for you, so the switching is rather painless, but, of course, you do have to repack etc.

That's a tough one! Sounds like you really want to stay at the Poly so I think I would consider the one night at the other resort and the keep the remaining at the Poly - I would probably choose the other resort for the first night, before you really get settled in. Good luck deciding!

I think I might try another resort for one night and then switch to the Poly. Since you know you'll love the Poly, make the reservation for the day before your Poly visit just in case you don't like it as well. Wilderness Lodge is nice and so is Beach Club, but I would LOVE to stay at the Grand Floridian!

Thank you all for your responses

After going back and forth with Disney and with the airfares on different dates, we have come up with 2 nights at WL followed by the existing 4 nights at Poly. We love WL - even though I prefer to be on the monorail line for the whole stay, I think it will work out OK this way, and I saved over $300 doing the first two nights at WL instead of GF.

I originally thought GF the whole time, but when I saw what you came up with and the $300 savings it all worked out well for you! We love WL and we're staying at the POLY for the 1st time with our kids in Dec. So, hooray for you!

We love WL. Great choice. You can always access the monorail by taking the resort boat from WL to CR. We did this for our dinner ADR at the Kona cafe.

I do love the Poly. But I may just do the GF for the ease. Besides, its not like the place is a dump. Maybe do the character breakfast there. Or have your kids check out the Google Earth 3d deal of the GF. Maybe it will get them excited
