Hilton Grand Vacations on Intl Drive?

Has anyone stayed at the "new" HGV timeshare on International Drive? Their site says it's just 15 minutes from WDW. I'm wondering how reliable their shuttle is, whether there's enough on property to keep 3 kids under 10 relatively amused if we choose to spend a day away from the parks, etc. Any comments would be helpful, thanks!

okay I haven't here - just the one closer to SW.

It is a nice area - that say it is directly behind the Premium Outlet malls - so it is a busy area - there is a Publix and a mall across the street.

also a MacDonald!!!

pretty sure there is enough to do for the kids. but they might like the one closer to SW.

Having a Publix right there sounds great. Why do you say the kids would like it better at the one by SW? We were looking at the one on Intl Drive just because it seemed closer to WDW than the other one. Just curious, thanks!

despite SW being across the street - the SW one is a quieter area.

it has sw across the street and Disovery Cove next to it.

the ID is next to a very, very busy mall.

just ask for a quiet villa when you get there.

spiceypj, how was the shuttle at your HGV? Does it run every hour? I've always wondered if these buses fill up...do they have another waiting they can call on, or do you have to wait another hour for the next one?

So many people say that even if an off-site has a shuttle, you'll really want to have a car handy. I'm trying to decide on that one. I think I read that there's a car rental place on property.

didn't ride their bus.

but the people who did were not pleased - it didn't kept to its schedule. also SW and WDW then were surpose to be FREE - the bus driver was charging (his tip???)

so would definitely get a car - you might not need it - but better to have it than wish you had it.

Wow, that's not good. We're gonna have 3 kids (3-9), so I would NOT look forward to having to wait for a shuttle that may or may not be there when it's supposed to.

I hate being tempted by the lower cost of staying at the HGV (it belongs to SIL's family, and they're letting us use it if we pay the annual fees which I think are around $1000)...so that would be only $500 for our part for an entire week. Yeah, rental car seems like a requirement. I was hoping you'd tell me their shuttle was A-OK, lol!

How was the pool area at your HGV? From the website it looks like both HGV's have a rather plain pool area, no slides or anything, right? My daughter's a bit bummed about not being able to try Port Orleans' dragon slide, lol. I think I may try to add 2 nights at Port Orleans at the end of our stay just so we can really experience some Disney magic, hehe.

they are plain - but BIG.

besides you don't want a slide at a offsite resort - no lifeguards. Teens can get out of control and bully the little ones - without a lifeguard.

I do when staying offsite - but pick the nights when EMH is where you want to be.

like Sunday (when it was MK night), and Friday (when it was Epcot night) - so be sure of you EMH night - go to the disneyworld site and check - before you make the reservation.

then your daughter gets to use the pool - the day your arrive and the day your leave - both times - so 3 days becomes 4.
