CBR?

We've been back and forth about where we're staying on our September trip to The World. I initially booked Pop because it was the only way I could convince dh go. Our financial situation has since changed and he agreed that he would much rather stay at AKL or try WL. Unfortunately neither is available with the free dining, so I booked CBR. I'm excited because of the lake and marina. We can spend part of one day on the water in whatever sort of boats they rent. I'm wondering, though, if CBR has fridges in the rooms. I know the values don't, but I'm hoping the moderates do. I'm still banking on a room opening up at AKL or WL, but I have to prepare for CBR just in case. Also, I'd like some room request suggestions if anyone has any. I'll be traveling with my dh and our 5 and 4 year old dd's. We're driving in and will likely take our car to the parks most days, so being close to bussing would be nice, but not absolutely necessary.

Yes, all moderates have fridges as a standard feature.

At CBR try and ask for Martinique or Trinidad.

It really doesn't matter where you ask though cause you are walking somewhere.

We stayed at Jamacia 42 & loved it. It was very close to the Jamacia pool & bus stop, and a quick walk to the bridge that takes you to the food court/main pool. Very convienent location without having to pay for a preferred room. The added bonus is that you are often first pick up & drop off on the bus!
We loved CBR, it's a beautiful resort. The hammocks on the beach are great for a mid day break!!

Another good choice for location without paying preferred is Aruba. Take a look at the CBR map & you can see which bldgs are close to pool & bridge. Either Jamacia or Aruba are good choices, and the walk across the bridge is beautiful. Be sure you take some time to explore Old Man Isl.

We were in Aruba #54 and loved it, too. It was a quiet area but within a 10 minute (with two todllers) walk to OPR over the bridge - a beautiful walk at that!

I use to get up real early when it was just breaking day and go out and video tape as I walked around the lake area, pool area etc. I have some really lovely video to watch now. I stayed there many times, most being at Martinique area before it cost more to stay there, Once we were across the bridge and that was nice as well. Have a wonderful trip where ever you end up staying.

We also stayed in Aruba #54 and loved it. We had a great time while we were there and they do have a refrigerator.

Thank you. I didn't mention that we have a water view room because there were no standards available. That might make a difference in room requests. Another question., do the busses really take as long as I'm hearing?

We've stayed at CBR twice and loved it. We stayed at Martinique both times. We never seemed to have any trouble with the busses. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes. It is a big resort but it is beautiful to walk around. Hope this helps

We stayed in Aruba in Jan. The only complaint that we had was that our room overlooked a smoking area. We found this area to be loud at night from people gathering and the area wasn't kept as tidy as we thought it should have been.

I've been at CBR quite frequently and I never remember a problem with the buses. They were on time and I never waited more than 15 minutes for one to show up.

We had a water view too in Jamacia 42. Very nice, esp since it was a free upgrade
And yes, there is a fridge in the room. No, we didn't have any prob. with the busses, except one morning, out of 10! We had to wait 25 min for the bus. Usually they are pretty good.
For your room requests, I'd fax it in 4 -5 days before leaving, but don't get too specific, as to bldg #'s etc. For example, ask for a bldg in Jamacia or Aruba, close to pool & bridge, & if you have any floor pref, there are 2 floors. We requested the 2nd floor as I thought it may be quieter.
Hope this helps.

We never had a problem with the buses, never a long wait (maybe one night 10 minutes getting back to the resort)---we used them our entire trip and we had a car.
