| Annual Pass Discount Questions I have a MYW package booked for October and I have been looking at the benefits of an annual pass. Since I have the package booked for 4 people--- if a good discount comes out for annual pass holders can I upgrade my ticket to an annual pass before I get there to get the discount? If the same holds true with the discounts that are out now I can save more than enough to pay for may annual pass.

| I THINK I understand what you are asking. Yes, you can get an annual pass before your arrival to be eligible for the discount. You will have to show your pass upon check in. CRO doesn't ask for pass numbers or check to see if you have a pass. Also, something else to think about, not everyone in your party needs an annual pass to qualify for the discount. One only person needs it. |

| But, I think if you have booked a MYW package then everyone in the room has to have a MYW ticket. I don't think one person in thewroom can have an AP and the others to have MYW package.

| As far as I know, you CAN add tickets to an AP discount room. I'll tell you why I know this. Last year, I booked two rooms with my AP discount. My reservation had NO tickets, but my parents reservation had tickets on it. The reservations were connected so it showed us traveling together and it showed me as the host so they used my pass with myself present to get the discounted room. AP's can get tickets added to a room. I don't know if it would be a "package" but besides the little extras, there really is no significant advantage to a MYW package. Edit: I thought about this further. Even if everyone has to have a MYW package, the tickets can be for different amount of days. She can buy a 1 day ticket and get everyone else 10 day tickets for example. She doesn't use her ticket and then applies the ticket cost towards a renewal for next year. The point is, what she wants to accomplish is possible. Last edited by TheMadonna3 : 06-22-2008 at 01:57 AM. |

| there's a lot going on here and I honestly don't know the answer, but just to clarify a bit: APs can get DDP now. However I don't believe this includes tickets like a standard package has. Unless I'm wrong (because this is how it traditionally was), you cannot book a package and get an AP discount on the room. So your existing package would have to be canceled and then re-booked as an AP discount. You can only book 1 room per AP as well

| I'm of the same opinion as Brad -- the AP DDP is just the room plus the DDP and no tickets for anyone in the room. You can, of course, purchase tickets for various people, but it won't be part of the package. I believe that the AP with DDP is considered a package and will have "package" rules and regulations ($200 deposit, 45-days cancellation and payment policies.) Eileen

| Thanks everyone, I think this may be too confusing to change it now. I have already paid a good part of my reservation that includes everyone's MYW package. I wish I had known all the ins and outs before I booked. I called and talked with a CM and he wasn't too helpful other than to say an annual pass would be booked as room only not a MYW package. I guess I will just hope for a general public room discount and maybe upgrade to an annual pass or wait till next time and get an AP in advance. Not sure what would be the best thing to do???? Plus is DMEavailable with AP room only ressie?

| It is absolutely not true that you can only book one room per AP. I believe the limit is 3. However, that really isn't relevant in this situation anyway. DME is available to everyone staying on property. |

Unless they've changed the rules back again, the limit (since 2006) is that it's one room per AP. It used to be 3 rooms, but they removed that option back in '06. Eileen

| I don't know about any changing in the rules, but I was able to book 2 rooms in 2007(well 2006 for 2007 season) and again in 2008 and had no troubles because I was told both times that I could have 3 rooms in total at my discount. Again, completely not relevant to this situation. |

| the change actually happened in summer 2007 or so i believe... thereabouts. 1 room per AP. if you were told otherwise in 2008, you were given bad info. if you were actually able to do it in 2008, that's a different story, but that's when the new rule took effect.

| i was only to book 1 room using my AP. I also had to convert from a package to Room only. I ended up purchasing our park tickets through UCT and saved $118. i was told that the concierge at the Poly will be able to put these right onto our room key

| There are a lot of pieces here... A basic MYW package simply is a room and park passes. Is that the kind of package you have, or did you also add Disney Dining Plan? You won't be able to "upgrade" your MYW pass to an AP before you arrive, because you don't actually have the pass. It's only activated when you arrive. You'll have to buy the AP separately (to get the voucher) - then you'll qualify for the room discount. Let's leave all the other initials - DDP, DME, etc. on the side for the moment, since those weren't part of the original question. If it turns out that Dining Plan was booked as part of the package, that's a different matter. If you got a free Dining Plan deal, then I suggest you keep what you have. The savings on the room with the AP discount will probably not come close to the savings delivered by the free meal plan. If you're paying retail for the Dining Plan, it can also be purchased as part of an AP reservation. Since there's normally no cost benefit to booking park admission as part of a package, the most likely way to do things is to: a) Find an (announced) AP discount that justifies changing your reservation b) purchase one annual pass per room you'd need to book (one AP for yourself, if you just need one room) c) Call to change your reservation. (Note that you may have to cancel the first reservation and await a credit of your payments, and put a new deposit down on the AP-discounted room.) d) Buy retail park admission for those members of your party that will need it (you can do that when you check in at your resort - no need to "reserve" park admission in advance).
