| Which is better Port Orleans FQ or RS I am in the early stages of planning our August trip and trying to decide which part of Port Orleans is better. In 1994, I stayed at Dixie Landings which is now part of PO but this time I have a child who likes the pool. Any suggestions on this hotel? I was also looking at the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian? Any advice? Since there is going to be 4 adults and 1 child. We are getting two rooms. Thank you so much for the help.

| I'm biased because I really like POFQ. It's small and cozy. Very convenient. Is one pool enough for you? There are more pool and dining choices at POR, but the resort is more spread out, There are 4 bus stops at POR, and only the need for 1 at POFQ. WL pool is really fun. Great resort, but is it worth the extra money? Depends how much time you spend at the resort vs the parks. Price out the difference between the 2 resorts and see what the $ difference is. Can you do other fun things with that money?

| I like the Riverside theming much better, but I like the size of French Quarter, and the slide at Doubloon Lagoon was a hit with my son. That probably didn't help.

| POFQ Id choose POFQ. Much smaller and more compact, less walking. I stayed 2 years ago and loved it. I am staying at POR this year but just wanted to try a new resort. I just love the boat to DtD. However, if you want to save money, I would suggest POR Alligator Bayou with the trundle bed since you have a child and could sleep 5 in one room. Beds are only full size, so it just depends on how thrifty you want to be. Id love to try Poly or WL sometime but with 6 of us its just not an option right now. Maybe when we retire and go without kids.

| I would go with POFQ since you have 4 adults in the party. It is a smaller resort and has a rather romantic atmosphere. I like POR as well, but it is more spread out and has many more people, although the landscaping makes it seem quiet and not crowded.

| I've stayed at both and the "vibe" of FQ wins for me. Add to that the small, intimate size and the fact that I don't have to walk very far to get my morning coffee or drag my tired body back from the buses late at night. The smaller resort size also means that there are less guests, making the buses and the food court a little less crowded. If the buses are being shared between FQ and POR, FQ is picked up first and dropped off first, making getting a seat more likely. Just my 2 cents -- but I have to say that I actually like FQ better than many of the deluxes I've stayed in. Eileen

| Having stayed at both, my vote is for Port Orleans French Quarter. It is my favorite moderate resort!!! I love the fact that it's small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere here. Have always had great service. Although it does share some of it's buses with POR, it ALWAYS picks up & drops off at POFQ first. POR is just too spread out for my taste.

| POFQ is our favorite moderate. Nothing is more than a 5 minute walk, it's beautifuly themed, the buses pick up / drop off here first. The pool is not as exotic as Ol Man River at POR, but is very kid friendly. Cool slide

| Lots of people like POFQ, but we're big fans of POR. We like the theming better, and have fallen hard for Alligator Bayou. DH and I stayed there in '96 when it was Dixie Landings, and we were in Magnolia Bend. Those bldgs are more "romantic" IMO, and AB is more family oriented. DD fell in love with POR when she first saw it, b/c of all of the foliage. Also, AB's bldgs are only 2 stories tall, while POFQ's are 3. Staying at Port Orleans, you have access to all of the pools, restaurants, and shops. It just depends upon which theming you prefer IMO. Either way, have fun planning!!

| I love WL for the Deluxe but I think I would lean towards PO-FQ due to the compactness. The nice thing about either Riverside or French Quarter is the two resorts share amenities. I have been in both pools and loved both. FQ is also the first bus stop which is always a bonus. |

| Thank you to everyone that responded. I talked over the choices with my parents and husband. They like Port Orleans. I have a little while to decide which area. I am excited and want to book the trip soon. So I know it is really going to happen but I have to wait until I have most of the funds.

| I think you will be happy with POR or POFQ - we've stayed at POR-AB twice now and love it! POFQ is smaller and is the first pick up for busses if they are sharing so that is something to consider. (I thought that guests could use the pools at both resorts?
