| resorts at walt disney world I have a big question .My husband hates to stay at hotels where the door is acessible by the outside. He wants to walk through the lobby to get to his room. Are the deluxe resorts the only resorts setup this way at wdw? I was looking at the moderate resorts and couldn't tell from the pictures I have seen. Someone help me please. |

| Hey, do we share a hubby? My DH is the same way. Unfortunately, i believe you are correct - I have only seen interior hallways on the Deluxes. I did get DH to stay at POFQ, and he actually likes it! WL and AKL are the least expensive Deluxe resorts and they are both beautiful.

| I think we just might share one. I was looking at the port orleans. I just love the wilderness lodge and the setup, but not sure if I want to pay 275 a night. We will have our own rental car, what moderate resorts would anyone recommend? |

| Yep.........only the deluxe resorts have room door access from the inside. My DH is the same way but he loved POFQ also! So it might be worth a try to see if yours will too.

| Would he feel better if you were on the 2nd or 3rd floor??? That way not everyone is walking past your door, only the people staying on your floor.

| I would recommend Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. French Quarter is more compact, but I love the landscaping at both. I prefer Alligator Bayou at Riverside. I also the Wilderness Lodge! But I would say it depends on how much you think you might be at the resort. If you believe you will spend every possible moment in the parks, then I would opt for the Moderate. And welcome to the Boards!

| Yall are gonna need to stay at a deluxe. Not all rooms are excessible from the lobby area at any of the deluxe hotels. CR you must walk outside for the wings and at Poly you must go outside same as GF. WL is the only deluxe I know of where you don't actually have to walk outside to get to the room. Hope this helps

| LOL! I am just like your husband! I don't know why though... You could always check into getting AAA rates at WL, AKL, or the Swan/Dolphin (I think the Swan/Dolphin actually offers a variety of discounts)...depending on when you're going, you might get a great deal! Having said that, I have heard many, many people say how much they liked their stays at POFQ/POR. Good luck with your decision! |

| Another idea is you could look into a hotel at downtown disney. I believe all the resort have their rooms inside. The hotels at downtown disney also have good transportation to the theme parks. Now keep in mind that even though the resort in downtown disney have good transportation that it's not as good as staying at a Disney hotel or the Swan and Dolphin for transportation to the parks. Basically the transportation to the theme parks from the downtown dinsey hotels is the only thing that is close to being as good as the transportation to the theme parks from the Disney hotels and the Swan and Dolphin. Also the only hotel in Downtown Disney that gives you extra magic hours in the parks is the Hilton. Now speaking of the Swan and Dolphin they are not that much more than the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am not sure if some of their rooms are inside or not though. the Swan and Dolphin also can get really good rates at times as low as $159 or even $129 a night. Now one thing about the Swan and Dolphin that is different from the Disney resorts is the room charges. If you stay at the Swan or Dolphin you can only charge stuff that you purchase at the Swan and Dolphin to your room.

| Thanks so much for all the advice. I think we are just going to suck it up and stay at the wilderness lodge. we love the woods and the theme of the wilderness lodge. Might have to shorten our days there. I was originally going to do 10 days, not so sure now. |

| The doors leading directly outside are heavy duty doors. I would think someone would have to do some serious work to get into one of those things. |
