ASMusic Question

According to another message board they show a movie every night by the pool and play pool games. Does anyone know if this is true? I have never heard of this.

I recall while staying at ASMO (1999) they showed a movie in the lobby/seating area. Had places to sit and watch movie. Beyond that, i have no idea. haha

I stayed there last year. I cant remember if it was every night or not, but yes they do show movies by the main pool. And I think they do the games at night also. When you get there you can ask.

When we stayed at ASMu last August there was a movie at 9pm every night at the pool shown on a big blow up screen. There were also contests and things going on throughout the day and a dance party before the movie. There was a schedule of activites in the information packet we were given at check in and the nightly movie was listed. I'm looking at our schedule from then right now, looks like some of the movies were Monster's Inc, Cars, National Treasure, among others.

Yes they do. It's on the calendar(?) they give you when you check in and it's a different movie every night. I think they call it a swim in because you can swim in the main pool and still watch the movie. It's one of the things I meant to do while I was there but never did.

I'm betting they do this in ASMu, because it's in the middle of the All-Stars - making it not TOO hard for ASMo and ASSp guests to stroll over and enjoy the movie, activities, and so on.

Pool Movies

We were there last September and they did have activities and a movie every afternoon/evening. The big screen was set up so you could be in the pool watching it. It was cool.

When we were there last Nov./Dec. there were nightly movies by the guitar pool as well as bingo games (you bought a card) and other diversions such as scavenger hunts. I did not notice an influx of guests from other resorts so I am betting they do this at the other AS resorts too. I was a bit worried about the crowd and noise factor, but really didn't have a problem.

That sounds cool! I'm considering splitting our next trip between POR and ASMusic, and this is one more reason to do so! That would be nice if they did that even in Dec, as the parks usually close a little earlier, and it would give us something fun to do in the evening!

Well, unless you live as far south as Florida ... the odds are "even in December" will mean nice, warm, comfortable weather.

When I was there in January of 2001, the only time I was cold, I was in short sleeves, in an open boat, on the water, with a stiff breeze blowing, around midnight. I suspect I'd've been chilly even in July, given those conditions. The rest of the time, it was nice, comfortable "spring" weather to me. (I'm from New England, mind; the further south you are from that latitude, the colder it will feel to you.)
