| sell me on values!! Ok, here's the story - I'll try to make it short!!... After our fall trip last year we decided that we like WDW for Christmas more than the humidity of the fall. So we started planning for Christmas 2009!! We recently booked our first DCL trip (4 nt, 12/23-12/27DH's brother lives in Wash DC and we haven't been there to visit in almost 5 years! We've seen him, but not where he lives, just on trips to CA to see the folks. We are working on using miles for flights (we'll be doing that for our WDW trip too), but it's still going to cost us something to visit. We're looking at doing that Spring Break next year. That might take my WL $$ away So, I may need to book us at a value instead. Values have never thrilled me, the icons are just too big and loud. DH isn't too thrilled either, but the cost difference of about $200/nt between that and WL might persuade him! So...tell me what's great about values (other than the "value" ).TIA!!!!

| While I love to stay in Deluxes and usually do, its often not practical money-wise. If we don't do deluxe, we stay in a value resort. I've stayed at ASMu (2x), ASMo, and PopC (2x) and have reservations for ASMu again in Sept, and I've liked them all. You get all the Disney benefits without the higher cost. To me the only downside is the smaller beds. What I like about the Values more than the deluxes are the food courts.....so much better and more choices than any of their fast food offerings in any deluxe. I think you should go for a value. You can always have a meal in the WL and hang out there some....even use the marina if you like. That way you can feel like you've been there as well.

| We, too, have been spoiled by deluxe and that is where I'd love to stay every time if we could! However, if we can squeeze in an extra trip by going value, we're so there! We've stayed at POP and All-Star Sports and definitely preferred POP. I really miss the amenities of deluxe when we stay value, but there's still plenty of Disney magic to be had. The theming is great, food courts are bigger and you still get the on-site perks, like DME and EMH. Good luck with your decision!

| If you really only use the rooms for sleep and shower, it's very satisfying to SAVE SAVE SAVE, get the on-site perks, and as mentioned before enjoy the Food Courts. We don't sit down for breakfast daily and the food courts are awesome. The pools are great too. No fancy slide but very fun and festive for a midday dip! |

| There's more to the values than giant icons. We stay at AS Music every year. At Music we have a rose garden with fountain in Jazz (think New Orleans), picnic tables and cute lizards in the Country area, and a quiet shaded playground behind Calypso. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the guitar pool is huge. The food courts have many decently priced selections; we always eat breakfast there and often dinner, right by the picture of Steven Tyler. You can use all three food courts and six pools when you stay at one of the All Stars. Lots of variety! The rooms have recently been redone with new furnishings, a privacy curtain and hairdryer, and H2O Mickey soaps and shampoo. So you get a nice mix of comfort and price--and more left over to spend on that special one-of-a-kind souvenir at Sid Cahunga's at the Studios (in our case, a life mask of the great actor, Basil Rathbone). Or a basket from Harambe Village at AK. Or a cukoo clock at Epcot...

| I stayed at All-Star-Sports last December and we had one of the newly renovated rooms in Homerun Hotle. It was on the parking lot side. It was Extremely clean and very quiet. Alot closer to the Main building than I thought it would be. Laundry facilities were right be the pool also. Great trip for the money.

| We stayed at the ASMo this June and having been booked at the Poly and then having to downgrade to some changes with travelers I was a bit dissappointed. We are not at the resort much but I am comfortable with a moderate at least... But I booked the value anyway and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean, mouskeeping was amazing, we had towel animals everyday. I never found the food court too crowded and we loved the pool (even without a slide). During the rush hours the ASMo had thier own bus and we never waited more then 10 minutes except on the last day and that was for DTD. I would definitely consider staying again...I would much rather a value than no WDW at all...in fact the girls asked if we could stay there again next August... |

| I told DH about the price difference, and that pretty much sold him on a value! For now, we're thinking 4 nts at ASMusic, 4 nts on DCL, then 4 nts at POR. Thanks for all of your help!! I have to say that the reviews, pics, etc in the hotel review section were really helpful also. If you haven't checked out that "new" section here you should! ![]()

| Sure, they might be over the top with the icons and photo ops, but the values provide you with a clean room and a place to rest your head at the end of the day! Usually we stay ateither a value or a moderate-this solo trip in May I treated myself to the Beach Club. The only reason we're staying here in December is due to a great bounceback offer I received & you certainly can't beat that!! We loved Pop Century-it was a walk to the past for my childhood and I enjoyed looking at all the things on display on the walls. Sure the room was a little on the small size, but you know what? With all the furniture jammed into the concierge-level room @ the Beach Club I stayed in, it really didn't have a whole huge difference over the Pop Century. I've always told myself if it comes down to not going at all or going but staying in a value, well, I'm staying in a value!! It has everything you need-a bathroom, a bed, and a pillow. What more do you really need? |

| Also, while the OUTSIDE theming may be over-the-top, the INSIDE theming (meaning, in teh rooms) is tastefully subdued. You won't forget you're at Disney, but you wont have that fact getting screamed at you 24/7. We're doing Pop Century for our January trip. Frnakly, we COULD have afforded anything right up to a Deluxe, but ... well: (a) this is all being paid for by a very generous friend, or else we couldn't afford to go at all. (Ain't he a great guy for doing this, btw?) So we didn't want to put any more demands on his wallet than we had to. (b) really, it's just a place to sleep, shower, and store our stuff; we're not "pool people" and don't want to spend lots of time at the resort anyway. While there are some Deluxes I'd like to try out (AKL for the Savannah views; Contemporary 'cause I've wanted to stay there since I saw it on my first Disney trip, at age fourteen) ... *shrug* again, it's just a place to sleep (etc). |

| I my self have only ever stayed at Values...this year my sister desided to stay at a Mod. To me and I am going to go out in left field with this leaving everything out of it. Look at it this way it is only a place you are going to be doing the 3-S's in anyway. If the extra days after the cruise is just to hang around the hotel and not go to the parks and such then go to the deluxe, if not go to the value. Would you rather waste say 200.00 a night to be deluxe and only be in the room to sleep or would you rather save that 200.00 a night and stay value so that next year when you go you can do the deluxe for longer. I never see the need to pay all the money for a room that you are not going to be in for a lot in a day. |

| One thing I prefer at the mods/values over a deluxe is the food court! Traveling with a little one, it's nice to have a lot of quick service options--not to mention Mickey waffles every morning if she wants them (and she does)--without having to do a TS. We're staying at Pop in Dec., and I understand they have their own bus service, which to me is one plus over BC (don't get me wrong, we ![]() ![]() BC)--their bus service was shared between several hotels.

| Just getting a few extra nights is a great selling point. Have a great time.

| I would love to stay at a Deluxe but never have. We are traveling with 2 young children 10 & 6 and therefore love the idea of the foodcourt, and only do a few TS meals while we are there. We look at it this way, I would rather stay at a value, instead of a Mod for price alone. You get the same service and after all how much time are you really going to spend in the room anyway!

| We have always said we would only stay at moderates and deluxes but our stay at All Star Sports over Memorial Day really changed our tune. It was great for the trip. We were only in the room to sleep, get ready, and rest a bit in the afternoon. The rooms were recently refurbed, clean, and big enough for the two of us. The only time we had bus problems was trying to get back to the All Star Sports from DHS (but we ALWAYS have trouble with the busses at DHS for some reason, no matter where we stay). I say if staying at a value means you get to go on the trip then by all means, it's worth it !
