| Help needed We are in the early stages of planning an Oct. 2009. Tonight, we learned that my cousin and her family (from CA, 20 minutes from DL) may be interested in joining us. They are use to DL, but have never been to WDW as a family. We will each be traveling as a group of 4 (her family...her, dh, will be ds (8) and ds (9) and my family, me, my mom, dd and ds (9) ) Does anyone have thoughts on best places to stay for families wanting to be close together? Also, her oldest ds has Asberger's...any thoughts?

| I think you could probably have your reservations linked together?? Make sure it's noted on the reservation that you guys are travelling together and would like to be as close as possible. Depending on your budget, what about getting a 2 bedroom villa to share? It sleeps 8. But then again, having separate rooms can be a life saver too.

| I'd choose to stay at a resort that fits everyone's budget and ask to have the reservations linked (liked mentioned above). Add a request for connecting rooms and you should be good to go. If you are on a budget, try out PopC. If you can afford a bit more then I'd suggest Caribbean Beach. And if you can do a deluxe, they why not try out AKL?

| If one child has Asbergers, it might be wise to get 2 adjoining rooms so that he can have a little down time. A villa with 2 bedrooms would be nice also. If you are on a budget, try the family suites at the all star music resort. He could have some down time in the bedroom watching tv.

| go get the passporters "open mouse" and send it to your family member...you can perhaps better plan for the asperger's child that way. i, of course, like the yacht club or beach club...either ask for adjoining rooms or get a villa. the pool there is akin to a water park and you can only use it if you are staying at either of those resorts. just got back from a trip with my sister who has a special needs child with similar problems...she thinks the yacht/ beach club area would be just perfect for her family. |

| I think it really depends upon your budget and how much you want to spend. You can do connecting rooms at a value, all the way up to a deluxe or even a villa. The family suites at ASMusic look like they'll only sleep up to 5 (looking at my PPer). I'd figure out how much you want to spend, and then look at the various resorts that interest you within that range. I believe that all of the resorts can either give you connecting rooms or rooms next to each other (on request). I would also suggest the "Open Mouse" book. It might even give you some ideas about where to stay. Good luck!! ![]()
