| AP and package ?'s Ok, so some of you may remember my situation, but just to recap.... We are a family planning on returning Sept 2009. Originally I wanted to return to AKL and stay club level, but it looks like we may have an extra teen on our trip (my oldest son's best friend)... so we'll now be a family of 5. I had to call CRO and change our room-only ressie to the Poly to accomodate all of us. I still want to stay Club Level, but it was $2000.00 more, so quite the sticker shock. For now, I only booked regular GV hoping for some good package deals when they are released. If club level does not work out, we'll probably upgrade to deluxe dining plan. As you've probably guessed, we are hoping for free dining as we've never experienced this before. OK>>>> here's what I'm pondering, since I will be getting a package when they are released, Would it be a good idea if I bought a AP this week before any price increases (rumored Aug 03?) JUST FOR MYSELF. Can I do this then if any AP discounts happen I can apply my discount to my ressies? I will then buy the other 4 passes we need when I do the package? This way I can take atvantage of the best deal... either free dining or an AP discount whichever is best? I hope I am not being too confusing!! Is this allowed (getting a package for the 4 other's tickets if 1 member has an AP?) Marie Last edited by chimo2u; 07-29-2008 at 12:43 PM. |

| Just remember, all the people on a package have to buy the same items (tickets and any dining). So if you go with a package, everyone will have to buy some sort of ticket (all the same type and number of days). You can always upgrade to different ticket media when you get there, but at the time of booking you all have to have the same thing. (So buying an AP now would not be helpful and would mean you are out more money if you end up with a package). Here's what I'd do: Cancel your current reservation. There is no need to have one already (in my opinion). Don't buy a AP (yet). Since you plan to go next year during 'free dining time', I'd wait until April 2009 to see if they offer it again and book then if it's offered. If it isn't, some other promotion may be offered and you could choose to do it (they've had some kind of offer during Aug-Sept for the last 8 years). If you don't like the new offer, then you could see about reserving a room or package that you can afford and wait to see if AP rates come out. You don't have to have an AP in hand to book an AP rate room. Once you book it, then you can purchase a voucher. I hope this is helpful.

| That is helpful and does awnser the "all in a party must be on the same package ???" I had. I do want to keep my room-only though because I have paid the deposit and at least it guarantees my room and resort I want. I will wait and see what packages are offered in Aug. I was told by disney CRO that I can always make changes to my package as needed (ie: add on free dining and get a refunded difference) if it is offered again. Thanks for the timely response!! Marie |

| Go ahead and keep your rooom only. When the prices come out you can call and change it to a package if you want. |
