I saw this on the Orlando Sentinel web site. It looks like they are turning the rooms in Trinidad South into Pirate themed rooms. I guess that's one way to get people to want to stay in Trinidad South.

Orlando Sentinel - Pirates of the Caribbean Beach Resort on Tourism Central Florida
Another great marketing idea. They are converting Trinidad South into these rooms. So they took what was the section of CBR that no one wanted to be "stuck" in to an area that they are probaly going to charge people more to stay in then the "regular" rooms.

You're absolutely correct. I just punched in some dates for next year and here's what I got:

September 13th-19th, 2 adults/2 juniors
CBR standard room: $149/night
CBR pirate std room: $174/night
CBR pirate waterview: $214/night
CBR waterview: $174/night
CBR preferred: $174/night

I've stayed in this section and even though I like the idea of "pirate" theming, I don't think it will justify the price difference for me. It's just too far away from everything. I would rather pay the extra $$ to stay in a preferred location.

How far away from everything are these rooms? I was getting ready to book one, but since we have never stayed at CBR I don't want to have to walk a mile to get to my room.

Still not happy with the cartoon themes at moderate resorts. I feel they should leave the cartoons to the values. I stayed at CBR (& loved it) because I wanted to feel like I escaped to the Caribbean, not into a cartoon. If I wanted to stay in a cartoon I'd have stayed at a value. That's my rant for the day!! I am glad they are making some much needed family suites though.

Here's a link to the resort map: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/cbrmap.jpg
The rooms are in Trinidad South. We stayed in building #38 last year and it is as far away from the food court, pool, check-in, as you can get. We had to take the internal bus to those places.

I like the idea of the Pirates themed room, however I do not need a family suite Are the Nemo rooms reg rooms? I like Nemo, but sorry, would prefer Pirates. Me personally, I think the Nemo theme fits for families more so then Pirates.

Pirates are good for families too, but I just think in my opinion Nemo is more kiddish then Pirates.

According to the Disney website, they're not suites, just regular rooms with two double beds.

Robin, I'm not sure if he is an amenity but if so, there probably is a very long waiting list.

OK Really stupid question. Could someone point out the differences in Family Suites besides their size?

I believe the ones at ASMu sleep up to 6 people. There is a separate bedroom. There are two bathrooms and a kitchenette area.
Here's a link:All Star Resorts Model Suite

But as I mentioned earlier, the Pirate-themed rooms do not appear to be suites. I checked on the Disney website and the description for the Pirate room was for a regular room with 2 double beds, not a suite.

What a waste.

And here I thought Disney was finally paying some attention to Families that don't fit the "Disney model".
