Sunrise Safari

So, thanks to the discount code for Sept-Dec we're upgrading to standard club level. Should we try to do the sunrise safari? My TA said it might be difficult to get in because they open it 180 days in advance, but I asked her to go ahead & try. Is it as great as I think it is? LOL

I would definitely try to do the Sunrise Safari - my family has done it twice, and enjoyed it immensely.

I wouldn't worry too much about availability. The second time we went, we had a very large group - so they sent two busloads over from the lodge. You should be just fine.

We think the Sunrise Safari is one of the most awesome things we've ever done at Disney. It basically is the same as the Kilimanjaro Safari ride done really slowly as the animals are waking up and very active. When there is a good view, the car can stop--many many awesome photo opportunities. Lots of behind the scenes info, and lots of opp to have questions answers.

I hope we're able to do it again sometime. I am not sure if you have kids or not, but we took a 5 year old and 3 year old and they still talk about how great it was and wanting to do it again.

I recommend anyone with the chance to go for it. We sent my B and SIL on the Sunset Safari the year before, and it sounds like it is awesomely wonderful too.

We have gone on the Sunrise and Sunset Safaris. I would definitely recommend them both.

If I were you, I would contact the AKL IPO staff to book the safari.

i've done the wildlife discovery excursion which is available to club level at any resort and it was an incredible experience. going in the middle of the day in a special vehicle that can leave the path and just park in all sorts of places. we even got assaulted by a rhino.

We did it last year and it was great. They do give a lot of information, and what a great photo op. They make stops along the way and give you a soem information on the animals on the savanah, and I was able to get some great photos, some of them are in the photo archives on here. I hope you decide to do it. Have fun planning it!

I've done the Sunrise Safari three times now -- it is always a great experience and worth the money. (I liked the breakfast better when it was at Tusker House, but it was still tasty!)

I've also done the Grand Gathering safari dinner and that was spectacular.

Someday, I hope to do the Sunset Safari -- Jiko is an AMAZING restaurant! A girlfriend and her hubby recently did it and said it was a singularly wonderful experience.

It is well worth it. One of our favorite things we did last trip. Definitely try to get in as quickly as you can. I was told they can fill up, but I am sure it probably depends on the time of year as well. Hope you can get it and that you have a fantastic time.

We did the sunrise safari when breakfast was at Tusker House. We all loved it. Great time to see the animals in a more intimate setting.

The Sunrise Safari is great. We had done it three times over the years and each one was different and great in its own way. If you can swing the additional cost and they still have space go for it.
