| Where to stay at the Values with 6? O.K....here's my dilemma. I've been to Disney several times with my family, but only once now that we have 6. The last time, we rented 2 connecting rooms at the ASMo, which worked really well for us and we all liked. Since then, the family suites have opened up to the general public at ASMu. To complicate matters DH would like to try POP on this visit since he's heard it recommended by others (including a CM). The prices are all a little different with a Standard View being the least expensive, a Family Suite (with microwave) being inbetween, and a Preferred View being the most. I've heard that all family suites are Preferred View rooms--is this true? The microwave may make us rethink the DDP, since we could make some (easy) meals for the kids in the room (they're all young). The fridge at no cost in the FS isn't an issue since we would receive one at no cost anyway due to a medical condition. Oh, and we're thinking of staying sometime in late Jan, early Feb. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!!!! ![]() |

| The rooms at values are standard and preferred. It is based on location to main building and not a view. Preferred rooms are slightly higher than standard. The family suites rates are much higher than both standard and preferred rates. You are getting basically 2 rooms in a preferred room area. However, the family suite rate can be more than 2 rooms at preferred rates. There usually are no discounts on these rooms and still they go very fast. Check to see if the family suite is open for your time before making a final decision. It may not be a choice after all.

| Typically, the family suite is about the same price as two regular rooms at a value resort when you factor in the extra cost for the refrigerator (for those guests that have to pay the rental fee). We also have 4 young children and if I were choosing for my family, I would choose the family suite for a few reasons. I really like having the separate bedroom for the parents (with a queen size bed instead of a double in the regular rooms). I also like that during the day you can fold up the sleeper sofa / chair/ ottoman in the living room and still have a sitting area rather than having to sit on the beds if you're watching TV or something. The kitchenette area is also great if you plan on having breakfast or quick meals in your room, since it also gives you some storage for your food items in addition to the microwave and refrigerator. With the small sink, you don't have to try to wash up your dishes in the bathroom sink. Of course, you don't have the option of Pop Century with the family suite. Hope that helps!

| I think with Mom, Dad, and four kids ... the Family Suite might be the best choice overall; a bit crowded for sleeping (four kids, in three kids' worth of space) ... but with that microwave, and the sleeping space for the kids turning back to sofa-and-chair for TV viewing ... However, if you DO want to do Pop Century, they do have connecting rooms there, too. |

| We stayed in ASMu Family Suites last Sept & them. There were only 3 of us-me, DH & DS (7at the time). DH snores very loud & wakes up DS so we need a separate bedroom for sleeping. We liked having the microwave & refrig in the room. The extra space was awesome too. I say go for the Family Suites !!!!

| If you want pop, you could just get connecting rooms there. I think you need to decide what would be best for your family. Some things to consider is- *price; two connecting rooms is cheaper than the family suite. *privacy: the family suite has seperate sleeping areas and therefor more privacy. *kithennette; only comes with the suite, but would you use it? *bathrooms; Having two connecting rooms, gives you two bathrooms, the suites only have one. So, there's a lot to consider- Good luck figuring out whats best for your family!

| Thanks for all of the advice, everyone. When I priced the two connecting rooms vs. the family suite, the 2 standard rooms were cheaper than the family suite, but the 2 preferred rooms were more expensive. And the family suites, I believe, are all preferred, right? So if we were to get 2 preferred rooms at the POP it would cost us more without the microwave, but I do like the 2 baths and the four beds. There just seemed to be plenty of room for all of us to spread out with the two rooms before and my DH really likes the convenience (especially with 4 young children) of the preferred rooms. But, the lower cost of the family suite and the added kitchenette feature is tempting. I didn't realize that they rarely get discounted, and that could put the POP over the top for us. Oh, decisions, decisions... Thank you all for your advice and the benefit of your knowledge. I have a little time to think about it, but it looks like the POP may win out, especially since DH really wants to try it this time. Thanks!!!! ![]() |

| I just wanted to add that the family suites DO have two bathrooms - when they converted them from two regular rooms to the suite, they left both bathrooms intact. The family suites are in the Calypso and Jazz buildings, Calypso is a preferred location so you could always request a suite in that area.
