We loved POFQ Very compact, the rooms were great size. Everything is close, location wise. A very quaint resort

Another vote for the CSR! We just returned from our 7th stay and celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. As much as I like the Polynesian which DH offered, I chose to go back to CSR. It is as close to a deluxe as you will get at a moderate price. Love the walks around the lake, the courtyards of the Casitas, the beauty of the resort...morning and evening (before and after the sun), sitting in a hammock watching nature go by, using the fitness center/spa. Although a very large resort and a convention resort, we've never had issues with walking or the conventioneers, and like the fact that it is spread out because no matter how busy it may be, you never feel as if people are on top of you and it never seems crowded. They have now also added queen beds and will be offering Club Service as of January 1 and they have the new Rix Lounge.

We just got back from a week at POFQ and I think it would be perfect for honeymooners. It is romantic with horse carriage rides and secluded areas with benches for relaxing. Although there is no TS, the ferry ride to DTD is relaxing in itself and DTD has many restaurants to choose from.
Make sure that wherever you stay, make your ADRs as soon as you can.

I haven't stayed in POR or FQ but I've done a carriage ride at it. I've been to both CSR and CBR. Hated CBR. My DH and I had our honeymoon at CSR. We loved it! It's our favorite moderate. It is very quiet. We walked around the resort several nights on our honeymoon. It looks beautiful at night. They have hammocks you can lounge in my the water. It gets my vote.....followed by POR.

I'd recommend POR and request the Mansion section. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Ask for a King size bed, I think those are all corner rooms which are a bit nicer too. Have a magical honeymoon!

We stayed at POR for our honeymoon. It was actually called Dixie Landings back then, before it merged with POFQ. We really enjoyed it, but when we first got there they put us in AB with 2 double beds. We asked them nicely if they could move us, and we were moved to the mansions. We prefer AB now, but the mansions were very romantic.

I join the votes for POr-FQ: we stayed back there for both our honeymoon (first trip to WDW!) and 1st anniversary. Definitely enjoyed the disney "magic" mixed in with setting all around the resort

Best wishes on the honeymoon!

Of the three moderates I have stayed at ( I have never stayed at CBR), I would vote for POR. I stayed in the mansion section at POR and it was so quiet and serene. The resort is large and spread out and I think it made me feel like I was not crowded. I do love POFQ too....either would be romantic!

We just left disney for our honeymoon. We spent half at a deluxe and the other half at a moderate. I would choose CSR. Not only is the scenary beautiful, they have room service just like a deluxe. You can have wine, champage, and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to your room. If you let them know you are on your honeymoon they will give you a free bottle of champagne or free (alcoholic drinks) from Laguna Bar. If there is a convention there they will try to put you as far away from the conventioneers as possible, sometimes this means an upgrade in your accomodations. Next to a deluxe this will be my choice to stay in.

I'll have to cast my vote for CBR, but it holds a special place in my heart because we honeymooned there. Second place would be POFQ. I haven't stayed there, but I've explored the resort and it is very quaint and romantic.

I only have experience at PO Riverside, in the mansion section. We loved it. You can't go wrong with either of the Port Orleans resorts for romance. You can reserve a carriage ride (call ahead for reservations, we called one month out and they only had 2 time slots for the day we wanted!) and you can get the boat ride to Downtown Disney from Riverside or French Quarter. Both PO resorts are beautiful in their own ways.
