| I'm torn about requesting a room. One the one hand I'd like to throw caution to the wind and just see where they put us but on the other hand I think I might want a North wing room. Last time we were South wing overlooking VWL and it was beautiful. But since I hear you can see Wishes from higher North Wing rooms I'm intrigued. Mainly b/c my DS is autistic and could never handle a "live" fireworks show so viewing from the room would be awesome for him and give DD the chance to see some too. Oh, I just don't know what to do??? South Wing was great and Dparents will be staying at VWL but North Wing would be something 'new' and we might get to see fireworks. WWYD????? If I decide to request should I add it to ressie or just fax it in? (We're going in early-mid Nov.)

| My DH and I went out on the balcony over the checkin area. We could hear and kinda see the fireworks. I'm not sure how well you can see the fireworks from north wing. Kinda heavy with the pine trees. Our room over looked the pool and lake. We had a great view of the electrical water pageant and heard it very well. That's a suggestion if the north wing fireworks room doesn't pan out! Good luck and have a great trip! |

| We've usually requested North wing, high floor and have been lucky to get it each time. And you can see some of the fireworks from the high rooms.

| Reminder that the 6th floor balconies are enclosed (forget what this is called-dormer?) and little ones will have to be lifted up to see over the edge. Many recommend 5th floor if you have small children so they can see out through the rails.

| You sure do sound intrigued with the idea! So I would say - go for it! Add it to your reservation, try a fax (but sometimes they don't see these) so be prepared to ask for a change at check-in if you don't get it. ![]()

| We had a room in the north wing, 6th floor and the view of the fireworks was perfect! We were actually upgraded to a courtyard view room at check-in but politely asked if we could have a woods view room (as booked) in the north wing, higher floor. The CMs were really nice

| You can always walk down to the dock and see them... We had a great room this trip but I can't remember the room number. (I'm guessing it was on the north wing because it was on the dock side, not the villa side.) It was on the first floor, looking out over the pool but with a nice screen of low bushes between our grassy patch and the walkway to the pool. It was a no-brainer to go back to Roaring Fork for tea, sodas and extra snacks for our boys. It was easy to head out towards the dock to go to MK, Fort Wilderness where we ate dinner one night or the Contemporary. We also got to see a daily parade of rabbits and ducks right outside our lanai. BreadBaker |

| Ask for North Wing. It isn't too specific but gets your point across. Also, try to time a departure from MK on the Ferry back to WL right before the Fireworks. THAT was an awesome experience. Watching the fireworks on a FREE cruise in the lake If you want to be VERY specific, ask for room 6006 or 6004. |

| I would call and add the specifics (autistic child/fireworks) to the reservation. The more info/good reasoning they have the better your chances. You could also follow up will a simple fax stating the reasons about 4 days prior. Good luck!

| Thank you all so much for the advice. Can you tell I was having a hard time making a decision? I talked to DH and he thinks we should request North Wing so DS can experience the fireworks w/o it being too much on him. I'll let you all know how it goes....

| I would fax in your request directly to the resort. Keep in mind they can't pre-book the rooms until the week before you arrive, but if you get your request in first they may be able to assist you. You could also call the resort directly and ask to speak with the back office who deals with room assignments. I would explain your particular situation and let them know you want to see the fireworks, they know which rooms would be the best and can get you in one of them. If your parents are ok with it you could also request to have them near you by putting them in as a travel with party. Good luck. |
