| We have had no issues with any of the WDW pools. But I would say that 100% of the time that you are in a public pool, there is probably somebody using it for a restroom. Especially babies with swim diapers. C'mon, a non-absorbent diaper?Obviously "p" is going to get in the pool.

| I've heard of some public pools that have some kind of chemical in the water that if someone urinates, the water surrounding them turns a color. Wonder if Disney uses that? Probably not because I've never seen water turn color and if the statistics are correct in the article it would have happened time and time again.

| Okay - but we're all here, and I bet every single one of us swam in public pools as kids - and ones with a lot less stringent cleaning and monitoring than is practiced now. I don't think it's something that everyone has to worry about, it's just the media trying to make a big deal out of an everyday thing. |

| Interesting link Buzz. I learned something new, I didn't know that sweat eats up the free chlorine. Even more reason to shower. I always thought it was just to rinse off the sunscreen. As for kids P-ing in the pool, ugh.

| I'm sure the resort lifeguards must test the water at certain intervals (I was a lifeguard at a pool once) and add any chemicals to bring it to the proper levels. There are policies for this at all public type pools. I'm sure pool water has a lot of things in it that we'd prefer not to be there.....frogs and bugs get caught in filters all the time, sunscreen and hair products are in the water, sloughed skin, leaves from plants, you name it.... Ever since I was a kid, I heard about chemicals that could be added that would show purple if someone peed in a pool. From what I understand now, that is an urban legend and does not exist. I've never heard of anyone actually seeing this happen either. But, as a kid, it sure did work as a good reason not to try !

And that is why you see signs to shower off before entering the pool. And they have an area with a shower head so you can do it. In all honesty how many ppl do you see do this.
