Beach Club was great for walking into Epcot or taking the boat to DHS but their buses were horrible when I stayed there in April 2007.

I agree with your choices, except to add that with little kids you can't beat being on the monorail for a quick trip to the MK and then back for a swim or a nap. The Poly in my opinion beats the other two monorail resorts for transportation because you can hike to the TTC to get a quick ride to Epcot. We personally like to avoid taking the buses to and from any of the parks if we can, usually preferring to drive to AK and DHS.

We stayed at the BC earlier this month and we didnt like the bus service...long waits. We did like the walking access to Epcot and ability to grab monrail from there but that whole process is by no means a big time saver.

Some of what denotes "best transportation" has to take in people's preference for mode of transport.

The fact that I like direct service and don't mind it being via bus, make CSR and AKL high on my list. But someone else may dislike riding buses and therefore prefer to be on a monorail resort so that they have access to two parks without riding a bus (evem though the bus service to the other resorts means several stops).

Once again....it's all highly subjective and there will never be a definitive answer to the question.

I like the boat ride between Epcot and DHS. Even though it makes a gazillion stops, gives me a chance to rest my weary feet. I like staying in Epcot area because that's our favorite park and has great restaurants.

Glad to hear the positive comments about the transporation at the AKL since that is where we will be staying in February! When we stayed at the Yacht Club last year we found the transporation to be fine, but we were also there during a less crowded time so the buses were not as full.

AKL is a great resort, and has very good bus service! We really enjoyed the cultural exchange evenings, and the night viewing

I personally have not stayed at AKl (yet) so I can't rate. But I can say this. You can wait 10-15 min to wait for the monorail, bus and the water taxi. We have stayed at different locations. Unless you walk from BLT to the front gates it seems your wait time can and feel like forever. One thing I have learned. Never trust every time table. Unless you are coming and going mid day, the times are never right.

I'm probably one of the few in this category, but I don't even take transportation into account when I am picking which Disney resort I want to stay at. I have had good/not as good transportation with the buses, boats, and monorail, usually many different experiences at the same hotel. I just like knowing that I have a transportation option, without having to drive myself, to each park from each hotel.

We are staying at the Poly in a few weeks, partially because of the location and transporation but mostly because we have always wanted to stay there! I have heard a lot about the easy access to the TTC. I know that can help with catching the monorail to Epcot and MK, but are there also buses from there to DHS and AK?

You can get pretty much anywhere from the TTC. Which is why its so nice to be able to walk there from the Poly - if you walk to the TTC you can get just about anywhere else in the World without a transfer...great if you like to dine at other resorts.

Having said that - DDT area resorts are also great for that same reason. you can get pretty much anywhere from DDT, and buses run late. The resorts within walking distance would be Saratoga Springs or "off site" at hotel plaza.

Yes, there is a bus stop to the left of the Ceremonial House (as you leave the front doors). There you can catch buses to AK, DHS, DTD, BB and TL.

You can catch a bus to DHS, AK and DDT from the Poly itself or you can catch a bus to DHS and AK from the TTC. The walkway to the TTC goes by the Rapa Nuie Longhouse. You need to follow the red brick path that goes under the monorail tracks.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the best transportation I've ever experienced was staying at Pop Century. I think because it's such a large value resort, and it doesn't share busses at several stops (like the All Stars do), the busses seem to run more consistently, and constantly. The only drawback I see there is that because POP is such a large, usually full resort, you may spend more time standing on the bus than sitting. (But at least you'll be moving!)

In the past, I've had long waits at AKL (but they do seem to have gotten much better recently); the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds were a nightmare to navigate; the Boardwalk transport - pre-discontinuation of valet parking - was such a headache that we SWORE we'd never use Disney Transportation again. I've also waited up to an hour for a bus at the Grand Floridian (to DTD), and 45 minutes for a bus at the Sw-olphin (can't remember where we were going, or which particular resort it was).

So again, my vote's for Pop Century. When they say a bus is coming every 15 minutes, they're (usually) not kidding!
