Pop vs. Music

I had booked Pop Century. Then changed our ressie to All Star Movies. The girls want to stay at the dog hotel. Pop has lady and the tramp, but I felt the 101 dalmation theme was better. I also liked the Movies pool better. Now DH said he thought that Pop looks cooler. I had originally picked Pop because of not sharing buses and everyone seems to like their food court. Help me make a decision!

We stay at Music but usually eat dinner once or twice at the Movies food court, since it is slightly larger and has a few more dinner choices. I have not stayed at POP, but from what I have heard here and elsewhere, it is loud and large, with a combined shop and food court. Although the All Stars taken together are larger than POP, they don't feel as big, since they are separated by parking areas and themed differently. We like that you have six pools, three food courts, three shops and three arcades available to you at the All Stars. My son loves the guitar pool; in fact, that's why we picked Music as "our" resort.

And the bus thing drives me crazy; we have never had a problem with the buses. The "sharing" bit refers to the buses stopping at each of the three resorts IF the bus is not full. So yes, the bus might stop before it gets to you, but you may also get an empty bus in the morning just for Movies as they work to get everyone out to the parks and spending. Really, several resorts have more than one bus stop, not just the All Stars. And the longest bus ride I ever took was from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom with the bus stopping at Poly and the Grand Floridian, deluxe resorts all!

Your kids will love Movies, and your husband will adjust. You can always visit POP to explore the theming and eat a piece of tie-dye cheesecake...

I picked ASMo.

I didn't really see a big difference in the food courts (other than I hated how PopC's was combined with their gift shop). I think PopC seems to "busy" in it's decoration and landscaping too.

And for buses.....at the All Stars, they usually only share during mid-day. You'll get your own buses at and near park opening and closings.

I love ASMovies and the 101 dalmatians section is SO cute. I personally liked the food court at Movies very much. Pop doesn't share busses, true - but the resort is also the size of the three All Stars combined...

I personally would go with Allstar Movies. We stayed there a few trips ago and it was really nice. I personally like the theming better than the POP, but that is just a personal preference. The buses were great when we went as was the food court. I think you will be fine either way, but to me Allstar Movies just feels more 'disney' than the POP. Good luck with your decision!

I picked Pop. We have stayed at both ASMo and Pop, and I much prefer Pop. To me, you can just feel how much newer it is. I also loooove the Lady and the Tramp statues. I'm sure it just was a matter of the time of year or something, but the ASMo food court was a crazy mess (of people, not saying it was dirty) every time we went in there, and the Pop food court was much calmer. Those are just my observations though. I think you will have a great time regardless.

I haven't stayed at movies yet. But i have stayed at Sports and Music.

I just returned from POP 3 wks ago. POP is a lil cooler. The Tye dye cheesecake is the BOMB. The pools r pretty cool and so is the arcade. The food court was a lil busy especially in the morning but the lines move quick.

The shop has a great selection and variety of suvies.

The bus service is much better at POP due to no sharing. If u get the 50's at POP u will see the Lady and Tramp icons which r pretty cool.

Good luck in your choice.

I've stayed at Pop 6 times so far in the past, but I'm actually excited as in December we are staying at All-Star Music. I love the fact that I get to check out a new resort, one that I've only been to maybe for 1 hour visiting friends. I love the fact that you do have 3 different shops, and 3 different food courts to visit. I'll make sure to check each one out too. But on the other hand I do like Pop too, never had a bad visit to Pop Century.

Although I've never stayed there, I'd choose Pop. We've stayed at both ASMo, and ASMu and we were not impressed either time. Maybe because both times the resort was overrun with teen groups. The CM's were not that helpful or friendly and the rooms looked a little run down. We would never stay there again, but that's just my opinion.

I have stayed at POP twice and we are returning next year. I have also stayed at Sports & Music. Pop is our favorite by far! I am an 80s teenager so it really appeals to me and my family. The dedicated bus service was the reason we tried Pop the first time. After that, POP had our vote. I recently sent my two best friends and their families to POP, and they both loved it.
As someone had said, Pop doesn't book the events like cheer competitions and pop warner football. The last time we stayed at Music we were overrun with cheerleaders.

We just got back from staying at Pop. While I strongly oppose claiming a place as a favorite without trying the alternatives. Pop gave me know reason to try the others. Our stay was great. They pools, food court, and store were great. It was all on big fantastic experience, and the atmosphere at Pop only added to it. For a value resort, I felt pampered. And while I don't have the experience of staying at All-Stars, and can't compare. I couldn't say enough good things about Pop.

I like Pop even more than the moderates! Depending on the ages of your children, it has outdoor things to do that are great for the kids to do while waiting for the family to get ready to go to the parks, etc. My kids can start to argue cooped up in a hotel room while we are still getting ready to leave the room. Outside the roos, though, they have such things as sidewalk twister , sidewalk checkers (meaning they are built into the sidewalks and oversized so that the kids can amuse themselves). It has saved us many times from impatient kids when they could run outside our room and play in the courtyard while waitinig for us.

The food court is great. The food is actually tasty, and the kids LOVE the big flatscreen televisions everywhere that they can watch while eating a meal. The entire place is very kid friendly. The gift shop is not in the food court; it is simply attached and the location is very handy if you need to go grab something while the kids are eating breakfast.

The pools are adorable, and the entire resort just seems so much newer and brighter than the allstar resorts.

I have never stayed at POP, but we are in January. We stayed at ASMo and ASS last year, we liked them both but the shared buses were not enjoyable. The food court at ASMo was okay. If what they say about the POP food court is true I am excited.
