| Does a resort reservation have to be booked in my name to get an AP rate if I am the only person booked in the room with an AP?? Seems like I remember reading something that said as long as I am staying in the room we could get the AP rate even if the reservation is booked in my sister's name. |

| I believe that if you want to book the AP rate, you need to use the name of the AP holder. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will come along and correct me. But, I would think it would be easier for the "system" if the names matched.

| That's a great question, I really have no idea. However, when I've made a reservation, I've had to list all the members of our party on that reservation. So, I would think that you were safe using your sister's name as the primary. I booked a surprise get-away for my husband and I one time, and didn't tell him we were going. We flew out of different airports because I had to take our daughter to her grandparents. My flight was significantly delayed, and I was able to text DH where he was going. My name was the primary name on the reservation, and DH was able to check in. I had an AP rate for that room (although, both of us had APs). I'm anxious to here if anyone has a definitive answer.

| I don't think it's a problem if you have to check in separately -- they'll just ask the APholder to return with their AP if they need to see it. I'm not really sure whether they need you as the primary or just as a listed guest on the reservation. If you call and find out, please update us! ![]() Eileen

| My understanding is that the person with the AP just has to be present at Check In. I was told that we could actually book a room for another person in their name and get them our discount, we just have to be there when they check in. We did that about 3 1/2 years ago, a cousin was travelling with us, we were both staying at CBR, I booked both of the rooms under AP rate, but put theirs in their name, when we checked in, I just had to show my pass and we were all good to go! They do list all names staying in the room. |

| That was the case with our Grand Gatherings -- I could book up to three rooms with the rate and only had to be listed as being in one of the rooms, but they were linked reservations and I don't know if that makes a difference. Eileen

| I think our reservations were linked too, becuase we requested adjoining rooms. I think as long as you are the one that calls and makes the reservations, they are somehow all linked to yours and that way they know you are the one that actually has the AP. I believe that is still the case, you can book up to 3 rooms on each AP. |

| I just called Disney and asked my question. They said as long as the annual passholder is booked in the room the AP rate can be applied even though the reservation is in someone else's name and paid for with their credit card. We will both be together at check in so I am not worried about that issue. Last edited by MontiMouse; 10-28-2009 at 01:19 PM.. |

![]() At one time, the APholder had to show the card/voucher before anyone else in the room could check in. This happened once to my MIL who was staying in one room at POR and we were in the other. At that time, you were allowed to book more than one AP room. They refused to let her check-in even though she was arriving hours before us. She handled it well. She went to Boatrights for dinner. That's where we found her!But even back then, the room didn't have to be in my name -- ours was and then my MIL's was in hers.
