Possible Change In Resort

I have the Cabins booked at Fort Wilderness for August. It looks like 2 adults from our party will not be able to come. That leaves myself and 2 kids ages 5 & 6. I'm considering changing resorts due to the fact that the cabins are a little pricey for my budget as I want to have the kids do different things like the one of the pirate adventures and the cooking with Alice at the Grand Floridian.

I did some comparing and have decided that if I need to switch resorts then I'll go with one of these:

1. Wilderness Lodge
2. Animal Kingdom Lodge
3. Caribbean Beach

I don't know which one to choose. These are all cheaper than the cabins. I know that I'm giving up a lot of space in a cabin but a room is fine for us too. Pricing is definitely a consideration but I'm looking for ease with the girls. The easier it is to get to the room after time is the park the better.

Which resort would you choose?

WL or CBR...

WL has the benefit of being close to the MK. The girls would love the ferry ride across.

CBR is a beautiful resort with a so COOL pirate pool and a pirate adventure cruise.

AKL has lots of stuff for kids to do, but it is farther from MK then any of the other hotels.
I like the idea of the WL for its closeness to MK--considering that you have small kids!
CBR is going to be less expensive than AKL or WL if this is a consideration.
We've enjoyed our stays at all three of these resorts!

AKL is one of our favorites, so I'd vote for that! Yes, it's removed, but it doesn't share a bus with another resort, has a zero entry pool, and a great CS restaurant! And you can't beat the animals!

Don't you love how we confuse you more?

CBR -- the pirate room are so cool!!!
The new pool is awesome!

AKL -- the animals are just perfect!
Even if you don't have a savannah view, you can go around the resort and see them. It's so magical knowing they are right there at the resort.

WL -- is my least favorite of the two (for which I'm in the minority).
I do love watching the geyser...going to Whispering Canyon Cafe.
Plus you'd be close to FW and they have a great movie night!

Have fun deciding! You really have something special at each resort!

I vote for WL. If you like cabins at Fort Wilderness this will feel similar. It is so convenient to MK. I just love WL.

Oooooo, I like all 3! WL would be my pref. for prox. to MK, also boat to CR-easy to hop on monorail for ADRs at CR, GF & Poly. I was there last Aug, and noticed they have lots of activities for children by the pool in the afternoons. Movies on the beach, Electric Water Parade goes by the beach.

AKL is beautiful, and having the animals there on the savannas, a unique experience.
I believe they have story time around the fire pit. Night time animal viewing with night scopes, evening cultural exchanges, and Zebra Domes

CBR, I stayed there pre-rehab and thought it was a beautiful resort then! Rooms are largest of the mods, beautiful landscaping, love the hammocks on the beach, also playgrounds on the beach. Good food court, new pirate pool!

Good luck with your choices, that's a tough one!

We haven't done W.L. yet (next June) or C.B.R. but have done A.K.L. It's a very nice resort. The themeing really is great. The animal viewing is unique. Jiko ties with Cali Grill as our fav place to eat. You can learn a bit abut Africa while there. We'll definitely head back in the future. If you choose Ft. Wilderness for the "lodgey" feel then I'd say go for W.L. Of your choices, it's the closest in "feel".

WL is just a ferry boat away from MK, so I think I'd vote for that.

WL will give you the same rustic feeling as staying at Fort Wilderness, plus it's much easier to take advantage of Fort Wilderness from as it's a boat ride away.

I vote for WL. If you're going alone with two kids, you probably want convenience... WL is in close proximity to MK (boat ride away) and it's all in one building which is always nice. Enjoy no matter where you choose!
