| What Hotel Best Fits Walt Disney's Personality This thread may seem a little odd but its an interesting idea I don't think anyone has asked this question on Passporter before. Its about how we think what would have been Walt's favorite hotel at WDW if he had lived. What Disney hotel do you think Walt would've favored the most based on his personality and tastes. That answer in itself needs to be examined by an unbiased view of Disney. The man was not perfect however he built a multi-million dollar corporation, and made one of the top vacation destinations on the planet. In case people want to know what Walt was like he was extremely opinionated, very conservative in today's standards of liberal and conservative views. Strongly pro-capitalism, pro America, was a perfectionist, was very demanding and only expected the best results. Was fascinated by several of the world's cultures. Very adventurous and was Theodore Roosevelt like conservationist when it came to mother nature. I'm guessing if he was still living he would choose either Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge as his personal favorite.

| I'm not sure just one would fit the bill...like you said; Walt had many facets to him! But if I just had to choose one, it would be the Grand Floridian. Walt loved history and the GF transports you back in time – if you let it! Based on his plan for Club 33 in DL, I would say Victoria & Albert would be “the” restaurant for him. He’d have a view of the train from the resort as well as the monorail – two of his favorite things! This means he’d have the view of the original park, in a larger scale, letting him see his dream really came true! Okay…I’ll stop now. ![]()

| I had read somewhere that one of his favorite vacation designations was Hawaii so with that in mind, I would vote for the Polynesian. Although I believe he was a man that enjoyed bringing history to life and advendure so I feel he would have also really enjoyed GF and WL. Good question with I am sure there will be a lot of different points of view!!! Have a great day!!!

| When I started reading your post, it was WL that jumped into my head. Can't really say why specifically, but I could just see him there.

| That's a tough one. My first thought was the Poly, then WL came to mind because of it's national park feel. But then again, AKL offers something quite unique (with it's savannahs and animals). I would bet that Walt would have a hard time choosing (as many of us do!). But Mousemaniac has a good point.....he would always be thinking/dreaming of something beyond what is there already.

| I think Walt would be staying inside the park--as he did with DLR. I think ANY of the resorts would have been too far away from his world.

| I think it would be The Contemporary because it fit his idea of a place where people could live, work, play, and have transportation all in one complex.

| I'm with Sue, I think it would have been the Contemporary. He really seemed to like the futuristic type things and he also loved trains. He would get both, with the CR and have a very nice view of his world!

| I think he would have like AKL. I remember when I was a kid on Sunday nights watching Walt Disney and alot of the shows were about animals and conservation. I really think he would have loved the animals at the lodge. |

| I think on the DVC DVD Roy Disney commented, that he thought Walt would be very happy to see AKL. So I don't know if that would be high up their. I'm sure his idea place would be the castle.

| To me it's a toss-up: AKL and Boardwalk. AKL because of his love of the animal world; Boardwalk because of his nostalgic side.
