Solo At Boardwalk Inn?

I'm starting to plan for my solo trip in Dec. 2010. I will be using Disney Transportation the whole trip.

I figure two days minimum at Epcot, a day at DHS, MVMCP, a day at MK , part of a day at AK and I want to tour resorts.

I'm debating if I do get a code of staying at the Boardwalk since DH isn't interested in staying there.

Are the buses to MK and AK a problem - too many stops? Is there somewhere good nearby for a quick breakfast?

I figure I'd better research now so I can be ready to jump on it if I want to do it once the next group of discounts come out.

Thanks.

HI .I think Boardwalk would be a great resort for a Solo trip. There is the Boardwalk bakery that you can go to. , Kouzzina serves breakfast at the BW. You could also walk over to Cape Mays for the Character Breakfast at BCR and YC has breakfast Buffet at Capt Grille or ala carte. I hope to stay at the Boardwalk in the future, solo or with DN. Have fun planning your trip.

Boardwalk would be great for a solo trip. And plenty of breakfast choices as coffeechef has listed.

I think the BoardWalk would be a great choice as well, especially if your DH isn't interested in it. We only stayed there a night in May, but found the buses to be fine - the fact that they pick up first from there, then go on to other resorts, is a great plus point, as you know you're going to be able to get on a bus.

Good breakfast neary Boardwalk = Boardwalk Bakery. It is SO delicious. It is also good for lunch, mandatory cupcake cravings, snacks, necessary peanut butter chocolate cake emergencies, etc.

I think it's a great plan. If it's a place you want to stay and no one else you'd go with does (namely DH), then give it a try on your own. Our family loves being at BWI/BWVs. Great location.

That's good to know. For some reason I thought that they were the last to be picked up and dropped off out of all the resorts in that area.

Resort Hoppin' is cool! The last time I went to Orlando solo for business, I had 1/2 a day to kill so made it a mission to see how many resorts I could hit in that short amount of time using only Disney transportation. The answer is 7. Started at SoG, Poly, GF, Contemp, BLT, WL, and finally the Camp Grounds.

If you stay at BW, I bet you could add all the EPCOT resorts! that would be cool!! Tour those resorts, catch a bus to MK to use the monorail, then use the ferry and boats to WL and FWCG....

I had no idea that BWI was the first resort picked up for the bus route out of it's group. That's a big plus for me. I don't mind riding to other resorts if I get to sit down. LOL

It's looking like I'll be going for 4 maybe 5 nights if I can squeak that much time out of the family schedule for my solo trip.

I read thru another websites info on BWI and the Passporter book too so between all of that, I really think I'll enjoy BWI.

Now if I can just get a room discount, I can do it.

No room discount means it'll be POFQ for me, which is a nice resort too.

I did a solo trip to BWI just two weeks ago. I loved the boat rides to DHS and EPCOT.

Walt Disney World is very convenient for anyone staying solo at any of the onsite properties. No matter what you decide to do you will have a wonderful visit. I too would love to stay at the Boardwalk Inn. I say go for it!
