| Hello! We are traveling to DW March 2010 and I had a pool question: We are staying at the GF - and the family we are traveling with are staying at the BC. Is it POSSIBLE - (I know - no pool hopping...) but was wondering if it was POSSIBLE for them to visit us one afternoon and visit our pool with us and vice-versa. We certainly wouldn't take advantage of this - and would only do it maybe once each - but do they check ID's for EVERY person entering the pool or just that at least one person has ID's? Example: DH, DD8 and other DH and other DD8 enters pool area. THEN - a few minutes later - myself, DS14 and other DW and DD12 enters pool area together. I know I know - it's naughty - but I just thought I'd ask..... Thank you! |

| Ive heard of others being able to get permission to have family or friends come visit them for an afternoon or whatever and swim for a few hours without problem. I think the only problem is going to be the beach club. I believe (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that is the one resort where they are MEGA strict with no exceptions because they have such an elaborate pool area. Hope somone else comes along with more certain info......

| When we stayed at the BC they did check the room key for both DH and I before giving us the wristbands to go into the pool area. I too have heard of guests getting permission to have visitors so you could try asking.

| We've always had our room keys checked at the BC (for everyone)! I would ask and see what they say! ![]()

| We've had pretty much the same experience at the BC, that almost every time they've checked KTTW cards for each one of us. They might let you join your friends if you ask, but you'll probably have more luck if SAB isn't terribly crowded when you go. Good luck!

| It's still pool-hopping. Calling it pool-sharing doesn't make it different. You can ask for permission from the front desk for your guests and visa-versa to use the other's pool. It may or may not work. But, definitely worth a try. I, too, think you'll have more luck swimming together at the GF.

| I just posted on the other thread of this (there seem to be two), but here's my answer. I know at the Beach Club, they are very strict at Stormalong Bay. If you can't show a Key To The World card to prove you're staying there, then you won't get a wristband and won't be allowed in. That's been the case every time we've stayed there.

| Yes, they do issue wristbands the vast majority of the time. My experience was there were maybe 2 times (over the course of two separate weeks) we were at SAB when they didn't have them. They are pretty strict over there! I agree that you'd have better luck swimming together at the GF.

| I have stayed at the GF several times in the past few years and they have never issued wristbands or checked room cards during my visits. It may be different during peak travel times when the pool is very crowded.

| It's not the Grand Floridian that issues wrist bands or checks resort IDs for the pool, it's the Beach Club that does that. The Yacht and Beach Club have Storm Along Bay, which is the sand bottom pool and everyone wants to use it so they are VERY strict about who is allowed into the pool. Only YC and BC resort guests may enter the pool area and use the pool. In order to use Storm Along Bay you MUST show a Yacht Club or Beach Club Resort ID in order to get a wristband (if available) to gain access to the pool. This is why I said that the OP may not be able to have their companions join them at the BC pool (or vice versa) and that they may have to pool share at the Grand Floridian.

| When I've stayed at the BC/YC my parents, who live in Daytona, have come for a visit and I've explained to the cast member on duty that they were visiting us. Both times the cast member had no problem and let them in. But the pool wasn't crowded and I don't know if I would count on your guests being allowed in. Good luck!

| Good luck, all you can do is ask and see what they say. I have heard of CM's checking KTTW cards at various resorts, so I would definitely ask permission first.
