My next question has to do with the Florida resident discount my brother lives in Orlando and would be able to get Florida resident discount he would be able to show up at check in show ID(proof of residency) than my wife acting as his sister could pay for it with her credit card and than I would actually stay in room while my brother went home is this do able would Disney check up at all other than check in

Hello and welcome!! I can't help you with the Fl resident rate as I don't live in Fl. I have also never stayed at the preferred section of POR.

I can tell you I really enjoyed Alligator Bayou when I stayed there for a few nights a few years ago. Very pretty and relaxing!!

Building 14 is my favorite in the Alligator Bayou section because it's close to the food court, the main pool (with a quiet pool just behind it) and it's a short walk to the main bus depot. But the AB buildings are all fairly close, so you can't really go wrong with any of them -- they each have their pluses.

As for the Fl residents issue, you brother would have to be listed as a guest on your reservation -- and, if you're booking a package with tickets and dining, you'd have to purchase those for him as well. PassPorters are, indeed, a generally honest bunch and tend not to discuss ways to "work" the system. We do this out of deference to Jennifer and Dave who have written the awesome guidebooks that have brought us together and out of respect for their generosity in providing us this wonderful forum for free.

Good luck with your planning!
Eileen

I don't think so, as if you just showed up, you wouldn't have a Key To the World card, which would have your park tickets encoded on it, and if you are on the dining plan, that is on the card too. Also, you wouldn't be able to participate in any extra magic hours in the parks, as they require you to show your card for admission on the attactions. I think it would be a can of worms.
You didn't say what time of year you are planning to go, but WDW puts out various discounts thru out the year that you could get. MouseSavers.com - Historical Information on Walt Disney World Resort Discounts
