Poodle Lady at GF About This Page:

Seriously, does anyone know what the deal is with the poodle lady at the GF lobby?
Have I missed something, like maybe an explanation for why she is there?
I feel silly for asking......but I have to know!

As far as I know, she's not a Disney employee -- she's just someone in the lobby that is sort of a fixture right now.

Since she seems to be selling her poodle toys, it surprises me that Disney hasn't yet booted her out.

Never seen her. Not that we are at GF all the time, but seems interesting

I am a bit curious too, as I have to think that she would have to be a guest staying on site in one of the Resorts or part of the character streetmosphere. It would have to be the only way she is OK'ed to be there.
So I googled poodle lady at GF and this came up. Its a photo of a woman who looks like the one sitting in GF. She is with a real black large poodle and she is dressed like Easter Parade character. Now it really makes me wonder?

She actually is a lovely woman to chat with. She is a widower and she comes to the GF everyday to listen to the music as it something her and husband used to enjoy. I think most GF employees know her story and are used to seeing her there each afternoon. I have never seen her selling her poodle toys but maybe that is something new.

That's good to know. Her story is heartwarming and it makes sense that the CMs are aware and accepting of her.

I was making an assumption (based on comments in TRs) that she was selling the poodles. And you know what happens when you make assumptions!

Although I'm not even sure if those are poodles in her bag. We spent a lot of time on our last trip trying to figure out what they were. I think they might be ornate teddybears. Travis thought it was a bag of hair dolls.

I think I saw her!

I saw her walking through the lobby, but later I saw her in the beauty salon. I'm not sure if she was a customer but when I saw her I thought she worked there.

With any luck I will confuse everyone even more.

I actually probably made you think that because when Mary Devall and I saw her in July her suitcase was overflowing with stuffed poodles and I just assumed that she had them out to sell (as did Mary Devall).

Danielle did PM me with her story when she read about us seeing her in July several times, so I tend to agree now that she is not probably attempting to sell anything since the CM seem to be so accepting of her.

She does cause one to take a second glance though.

This is the same story that I have heard about her. I could not remember where I heard it so I was never sure if it was true. Thanks Danielle

I think that I saw here when I was there last month. I noticed her because I thought that she looked a little odd. She seemed to have a bag of teddy bears (is that the lady in question?), and I remember wondering if there was some sort of collectibles/teddy bear convention going on. Older lady with blondish hair, right? It's interesting to hear the story behind why she's there.

Yes, she is a lovely woman with a kind heart The CMs at GF are fairly protective of her, too, pretty much always knowing where she is and keeping an eye on her.
