| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View Okay no brainer!! Having stayed at both, the AKL Savanna view stampedes any view at the Poly even with it's better location! Seriously AKL is a brand new resort, it's self contained, has better dining selections, a huge pool - you can't beat it! I'd move in if I could! (And the Poly is nice - it just ain't no AKL!) |

| Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View Rest assured, the rates ar not the same. Depends on what you are looking for as to which one to stay at. It's been awhile since you've been down so I'd go for the Poly with its central location and access to so many different forms of transportation. Make a PS at Jiko for dinner though. |

| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View [ QUOTE ] Rest assured, the rates ar not the same. [/ QUOTE ] I did a double-check over at mousesavers and discovered you were right...the AKL Savannah is less than the Poly Garden (current AP rates.) DF is enchanted by the Polynesian, so it would be a tough sell to get him to go to the AKL (to tell the truth, I think he thinks there's only the GF, Poly, and Contemporary...isn't that cute! We were watching the Disney Weddings video and they showed the CBR and he confused as to where that was.) But with all the AKL enthusiasm on the boards, I must admit I'm quite intrigued. This will be our only on-site trip for a loooooong time, so it's hard to choose. I really like the Poly's location. |

[/ QUOTE ] Keep in mind you're paying for location, not necessarily a better property, though. And just as an FYI, the cost of a Deluxe AKL Savanna room was much more than what we paid for our most recent stay at the Poly. |

| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View We stayed in a AKL Savannah view (Uzima savannah) and a Poly Garden view (Tokelau) on the same trip. The AKL stay was much more magical to us and I'd recommend it, especially as it is less expensive as well. -HiddenMickey |

| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View I just booked a deluxe savannah view room for one night (Dec. 20) for $233 (including taxes and fees) with the AP discount. Just for info. Patrick |

| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View I really have to pull for my beloved Poly here. The location was fantastic and that was important to us- and we were more than enchanted with our garden view room in the Tokelau building- I loved being on my balcony. I think it depends on what you prefer to look at. In addition, the staff there was wonderful to us. Good Luck with your decision!! |

| Re: Poly Garden View Or AKL Savannah View If the rates were the same, I'd choose the savanna view room at AKL for a variety of reasons: First of all, the amazing view of course. The compactness of the resort (everything all under one roof instead of having to dash out in the pouring rain to get a soft drink or snack) The excellent bus service (not having to share buses with any other resort) The presence of two hot tubs (I still don't understand why a deluxe resort like the Poly doesn't have a hot tub when even all the moderates do) The fully equipped on-site fitness center.
