Valet Parking???

Can someone please explain how the valet parking works for me. We are staying at the GF and I know valet parking is 7$...I assume that is per day. So if I pull into the porte coche at 9:00am on a sunday and check out at 9:00am on tuesday is that 14$ or 21$ and what is the appropriate time to tip and normally how much. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Valet Parking???

I would go for the $21, I think that they really dont care what time you come and go, I think that they will zap you for the $7/day no matter what. I usually give valet $2-$3. My reasoning is all they really do is move your car from one spot to another. If they washed and waxed it and filled it up with gas that would be another thing!

Re: Valet Parking???

We tip $2, and I think the valet will be $14 based on the # of night you are staying. Valet is the way to go since it allows you to Valet at all the hotels

Re: Valet Parking???

I wanted to add that when we had breakfast at Fresh at the Dolphin I had my handicapped tag hanging on the mirror and was told that handicapped tagged vehicles are valeted for free. We had no idea, and would have gladly paid as the walk was much too far for me and I had already turned in my ECV, but it was nice that they offer this service for those who really need it.

I am not sure if this applies to all resorts, but if someone in your party is handicapped it would be a good idea to ask or at least display the proper permit when entering the valet area so that they are aware of the circumstances...

Take care.
Dee.

Thanks for that information. Does anyone know if all resorts honor this? It will be helpful to us this summer, we were going to valet park anyhow but every dollar saved is great.
