Ok!
So I have decided to just go ahead and change my room from standard view(the parking lot) to standard savanna view. I guess we will have to tighten the budget until our trip. I am sure it will all be worth it in the end.
I can not wait until I get to WDW. My kids think I am funny because I am more excited than they are so far. I am 32 years old going on 10 right now just thinking about our trip.

That is awesome! Has anyone heard news about the POFQ opening yesterday? We are staying in May and are hoping for a positive experience since the refurb. <font color="purple"> </font>

I haven't stayed at AKL for that reason, meaning I would want to get a savannah room verses a standard. My though is, isn't that why you would stay there in the first place? I am sure you will be much happier with the better view. Have a great trip!

Boy, can I relate. Though it is 35 going on 10. And my kids just seem like it is still too far away to get excited about, but it is less than three months now. I can't wait.

Congratulations on your going to stay at the AKL.

Many people say that their decision to go would be based on whether or not they have a savannah view or not. I'd like to remind everyone who hasn't seen this resort that there are many places around the resort to view the animals besides their room. You cannot walk down a hallway without seeing animals. There is Arusha Rock and several locaitons which have binoculars.

Hi Danee! Well, I'm 36 going on 10! I can relate to the excitement. I think the planning is so much fun. I've never stayed at AKL, but am happy for you that you upgraded your room. Have fun planning while you wait!

It sounds like you, Crackers, and our family will all be at WDW at the same time. We went last year in June (BCV 1 bdr.) and have been dying to go back (Swan) ever since. My wife (36) and I (34)are like little kids. We check the boards out just about every night to see what is new. We have officially made all of our PS for our trip. Hope that you all have a wonderful time.

You will absolutely love the AKL. We stayed there Oct. 2003 in a pool view room and could actually also see the savannah from our room. Be sure to check out Arusha Rock first thing in the morning, the guides are very informative and the animals are all around because they are being fed. Have Fun!

I think your decision to switch to a Savannah room is great. I've not stayed there yet, but would definitely want a Savannah room too. Have fun planning and a great trip.

I am way more excited than my kids but then again they don't know we are going. We are surprising my 11 year old for his birthday. Hey Aristacratic Family we will be at AKL at around the same time and we are from Texas also. We arrive in Orlando on the night of June 11th and check into AKL on the 12th. It's our first trip to WDW. Don't know if I'll be able to keep the trip a secret or not.
