Convincing others to stay on-site! We stayed at CBR on Sept/Oct 2003 and off-site at Holiday Inn Family Suites in Feb 2004. The remainder of our group fell in love with HIFS for the following reasons: 1) Free Breakfast 2) Tons of room (we stayed in a kids suite with 2 bedrooms plus living area). 3) Great Mousesavers rate 4) Closeness to the parks (comparitively speaking). I am really wanting to stay back on-site for our next trip. Any suggestions for changing their minds???? TIA Steph A

| Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! 1. Youre on Disney property where the magic lives 2. dont need to worry about renting a car 3. you can see Illuminations from CBR (or that is what I was told) 4. 24 hours of "tip for today" on your TV 5. can get adjoining rooms 6. codes may come out to save some $$$ 7. | Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! No ideas for changing their minds, your post just reminded me of my mom. Free breakfast is considered a huge bonus in her world Maybe staying at a deluxe (if you can swing it) ?!? I can't imagine anyone not falling in love with one of Disney's deluxe resorts. |

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! We have been spoiled by staying on site for every trip, with just one night off-property so far. One thing I know is that with some people you will not be able to convince them that staying in a smaller room without free food for more money is worth it. I obviously think so, but there are a ton of people who just will not be convinced. I have helped several people with their trips to WDW and there is usually a big pull to stay off-site to save money in their minds. Do you think you could convince them to do a few nights of each? This would be a nice compromise. -HiddenMickey

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! We stayed at the HIFS for 2 nights on our December trip, then moved onsite for our prize portion. I liked the HIFS well enough, but I looked at the proximity as a huge issue. By the time I drove to the parks, parked, trammed or walked, that ate up a tremendous amount of time, esp when we wanted to go "rest" (never happened...I *hate* driving at WDW! ) It makes fiscal sense to me to be on property with great AP rates just for the transportation system which saves time=more time for the parks=more of your money's worth of vacation! In Jan we stayed at the AKL and although it is far away from nearly everything, we still arrived in a lot less time than we would have with a car, and even moreso if we had been at HIFS. Disney has the Big Cheese, I thought HIFS was just cheesy. ![]() Another plus for me was that I felt comfortable letting my children visit around the resort without being overly worried about them and my 15yo could go off on her own without worries since everything is self-contained.

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! 1. Cost of parking and gas driving you can buy breakfast. 2. Transportation runs all day and you can go back to your resort for a nap. 3. Stay in the magic place, Live the magic ! 4. Extra hour for guests!!!!!!! 5. Because I want to stay on property!!!!!!! ![]()

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! I had the same issue last year when planing my May trip. First thing was to determine if you are just doing Disney (all 4 parks), or are you going to spend some time else where. By staying on site, we were able to leave the parks everyday and enjoy the pool for a couple of hours then return to the parks. That's something we would have never been able to do if we stayed off site. On-site Advantages: Getting to and from the parks is generally easier. This is more important if one plans to take afternoon breaks. Immersed in Disney Magic 24 hrs a day. Disney resorts offer wonderful theming. Disney staff provides excellent service. Properties are always clean and well-maintained. Room-charge privileges throughout WDW. Merchandise delivery to your Disney hotel. (I find this to be a big Plus )Access to WDW's closed circuit TV information channels. Unlimited use of WDW transportation system. ![]()

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! You don't need to rent a car...busses, monorail and ferries are all FREE!!! The constant surrounding of Disney stuff and Disney people is WONDERFUL. It adds to the experience. There is NOTHING IN THE WORLD like a Disney resort! (And i've only stayed at Value resorts!) Good luck with the convincing!

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! I'm always amazed at what a "free breakfast" will do to people. That would NEVER be enough to convince me to stay off-site. It's just not a big deal. Yes, there are some beautiful places off-site, but I would certainly be considering Hyatt Grand Cypress or something much nicer to sway my position away from anything on-site. The convenience is just so much better with on-site.

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! Two words: Towel Animals. No, not every mousekeeper will do them - but we've been very lucky that about 75 percent of the time, we've come back to the room after a long day at the parks with a funny friend waiting for us. ![]() It's just representative to me of the little touches and extra magic that are on-site. It's so much cleaner - and for some reason, I feel safer, too. Maybe with the guard's house? Finally, where else is Mickey gonna call you to wake you up?

Re: Convincing others to stay on-site! When I was younger and went with my parents we use to stay off property. We had so many problems with transportation and now after staying on property there is no way I would ever stay off property again. I think you need to do a pro and cons list of staying on and off property but make sure there are more pro then cons with staying on property (I would defiantly use all of the lists above to make you pro and cons lists) in convincing them that on property is better than staying off property. Here is some that you get it your way
