Wilderness Lodge 3 views - UPDATE To QUESTION

Hello,

(UPDATE)When I looked at the Disney website, it gave me 3 choices for room views: standard, lodge and courtyard.

(ORIGINAL)I know that a standard view means parking lot, etc. but what does "lodge" view vs. "courtyard" view? I think courtyard would probably mean pool view, but I'm not quite sure what lodge view would mean.

Thanks!

When I booked our WL rooms, the Disney reservationist told me that some of the woods views will give you a view of the castle and fireworks. Not bad.....

Thank you - I get it now! Lodge and Woods view are the same thing. I kept seeing people talking about woods view in the forum. Disney must have changed the name of the view.

Re: Wilderness Lodge 3 views - UPDATE To QUESTION

The reason they now call it Lodge view.....is that you might get what used to be a wood's view room on the South side that now faces the Villas building if you reserve that level. And a standard view may also face the woods but overlook a roof or something, as the parking lot is not really next to the building. -HiddenMickey

Re: Wilderness Lodge 3 views - UPDATE To QUESTION

We stayed in a woods/lodge view room last Febr. There are very few rooms that will give you the castle/fireworks view -- these are on the higher floors only.

We loved our room, which was located on the 4th floor directly over Whispering Canyon Cafe; however, let me warn you that this is a noisy location! If you are a light sleeper, go to bed very early, like to sleep in, or just don't like noise -- and have a lodge room reserved, you will be happier in one of the wings.

Re: Wilderness Lodge 3 views - UPDATE To QUESTION

I ditto what Joyful1nh said and add this: There are a few Standard rooms that are on the north side of the lodge that overlook the receiving area and the smoke house for the restaurants. The balconies are very tiny in that particular section too. We stayed on the 4th floor for one night and it was dreadful. I ended the trip with horrid allergies from the smoke there. Now, other than that, if you are further down in that wing, the woods block most of the 'business' area I mentioned and it is quite nice. If you are going during a busy time, I would stick with a Lodge view room to avoid any problems.
