All Star Sports I hope to eventually write a trip report for last month. But for now. A$$ is HORRIBLE. It is dirty, moldy, noisy, smelly, unsafe, violent, unsupervised. What does Disney think it is doing?! We had stayed there with Softball last yr and it wasn't quite as bad, but this year. We are flabergasted. Will NEVER stay there again. I'll try to write more another time.

Re: All Star Sports While I'm not a fan of the All Star resorts, I can't safe that violent or unsafe ever were words I could use to describe them. I'd love to hear more about your trip and what prompted your post, as well as the good things that happened while you were at WDW. Anne

Re: All Star Sports Did you just maybe get a bad room? Or was the whole resort bad? I cannot believe Disney would let a resort go to "crap"... Sorry to hear that you did not have a good time? Were you able to complain to any of the staff? Possibly get a refund for some of the bad experience? Kristine

Re: All Star Sports I hope that you gave them a piece of your mind or will give them! Though this is a value resort, they should still not have let it get this bad. I would have walked out of that room and requested another one and if I wasnt happy with that, I would have sat there and complained until I got upgraded to a moderate resort. That's ridiculous, no matter what we spend for rooms, they should all be clean. So sorry to hear about this, but I too am curious to read your report.

Re: All Star Sports Last time I stayed at Sports was September 2002. It was clean, well-kept, perfectly safe, and totally satisfactory to me. I can't believe that the resort could have gone so completely to seed in only 18 months. I hope that instead of just saying it was bad, you will come back to this thread and give us specific examples of what you found bad and why.

Re: All Star Sports That's quite an interesting perspective and I hope you come back to post WHY you thought all of those things. What made it that bad?? I've stayed at All Star Sports three times and a good friend of mine just stayed there last week. I've never witnessed anything violent EVER at the resort (unless you call a loud arguement violent). It's always been clean, pleasant and charming. A little noisy at times, yes, but never blarringly loud. I have witnessed, once or twice, a trash can or two overfull. I'm interested in the "violent" and "unsafe" part you mentioned. What made it so? I don't see how this resort (or any Disney resort for that matter) could be considered unsafe. There are many safety features (security gates, secruity personell, key cards, safes, well lit parking lots, lifeguards, etc) and most of these safety features are often not found at even the best hotel chains in the USA. I'm not saying I don't believe you in when you say "unsafe", I'm just wondering what exactly you mean? Kelly

Re: All Star Sports I think the biggest problem the All-Star resorts face are the volume of unsupervised teenagers that stay there. Mainly with school, band, and youth groups. These hotels are so popular because of their affordability. While I had no problems or complaints with All-Star Sports when I stayed there, I did notice some areas of opportunity as far as quality goes. I have heard that the resort will be closing very soon for a rehab. As far as the noise from guests, there isn't much they can do about that. You get what you pay for.

Re: All Star Sports I have never stayed at an AS because I have heard this from many friends and family members about the resorts...specifically, I have heard that too many teens running around unsupervised, and being unruly at the pools with young children around. I know many museums and such around our area enforce a strict mandatory chaperone per so many kids...maybe Disney needs to think about that for the benefit of FAMILY. And, the chaperones need to have control over the teens they are supervising. I don't specifically know what has happened in your case, but I know some families do have concerns about staying at AS. Sorry to hear about your experience!!!!!

Re: All Star Sports When I went to ASmusic, I was looking to ASsport and I was like "oh my god, I don't want to be there" because of the noise and not only of the teens... I really don't know what to say. I guess that a better supervision would be a very good thing, but believe me (I'm a high-school teacher, with the oldest one- 15 to 18) and it's not always easy to supervise them... But I guess I have to agree with the ones who says that you have what you pay for... I really love All Star and because it's the only way I have to stay on site, I deal with all the problems that comes with it (even the kids that makes me think of my students! )

Re: All Star Sports While I've never stayed at the AS Sports, I did stay at the AS Music last year with our TSA group - we thought it was a great place to stay with a group of students. Disney was very thoughtful of both our group, and of the other guests. Our rooms were all together in a block in one of the Broadway buildings - while the rooms could have used a rehab (one of the beds in one room had a HUGE hollow in the middle - luckily it was for the lone unmarried female chaperone - she just slept in the other bed!), they were clean and safe! We didn't have any problems with noise, or anything else, from our kids or anyone else! I think that most kids going in groups are there because they have made it to national competition level in some discipline, (otherwise they wouldn't be performing there) and kids who can succeed in some area to that extent are using pretty good at self discipline and managing their schedules. Sure they can get excited - it's their vacation too - but they are usually pretty light hearted about it. Again, good chaperones make a big difference as well. Sorry you had such an unpleasant experience, but again, staying at the All Stars, you have to expect to encounter lots of kids, and school groups! Less discretionary income, don't you know!

Re: All Star Sports After reading this post, I am now very nervous about staying at ASMovies in November of this year. Do you think there is any way I could call Disney Reservations and ask if there are any large groups booked at the hotel at the same time?
